1. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy addresses North East MSME Conclave: He has said that there is immense potential for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Northeast – be it agriculture, food processing, tourism, mineral-based industries, IT or infrastructure.

5. The Supreme Court Wednesday dismissed a plea seeking cancellation of offline board examinations for classes 10 and 12 to be conducted by the CBSE and several other boards this year, saying such petitions give false hope and create confusion among students who are going to appear in these exams.
6. Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Rameshwar Teli said that nearly one lakh people have got employment through the LPG distribution system under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, PMUY. He said LPG coverage has increased from 61.9 percent to near saturation level in the last five years. Mr. Teli was speaking in the post-budget webinar on HAR GHAR UJJWALA, organized to accelerate development and make public welfare schemes
7. ANDHRA PRADESH :. The state govt started a review of the suggestions and objections on the formation of new districts under the district reorganization plan.
8. DELHI: Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been given additional charge of the Public Works Department (PWD) that was earlier held by Satyendar Jain. Sisodia already has the education, finance, planning, land and building, vigilance, services, tourism, art, culture and language, labour and employment departments. Jain will have health, industries, power and home among other departments.
9. GUJARAT: State board exams of classes 10th and 12th will be conducted from March 28 to April 12.
10. J&K : The Govt of India has granted an extension of two months to the delimitation commission constituted by it in 2020 to redraw J&K’s electoral map. The Union Ministry of Law & Justice yesterday issued a notification to grant an extension of two months to the panel headed by former Supreme Court Judge Justice (Retd.) Ranjana Desai.

13. MAHARASHTRA: Enforcement Directorate on 23 Feb (Wednesday) arrested NCP leader and Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik in connection with Dawood Ibrahim money laundering case. The investigating agency probed Malik over an alleged land deal linked with the fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s brother Iqbal Kaskar. Last week, the ED had conducted raids at the residence of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar in Mumbai in connection with the money laundering case. Later, a special court here remanded him to ED custody till March 3.
14. RAJASTHAN: govt on 23 Feb gifted iPhone 13 to all 200 MLAs after the state Budget was presented, claimed reports. The phone was gifted to them along with the digital copy of the 2022- 23 Budget, presented by CM Ashok Gehlot. Reportedly, the government had purchased 250 iPhones. Notably, last year MLAs had received iPads as a gift.
15.TELANGANA : Supreme Court on Wednesday said that it will examine the report filed by the Supreme Court-appointed Commission inquiring into the alleged encounter of the four accused in the rape and murder on December 6, 2019, in Hyderabad.
The Supreme Court on December 12, 2019, appointed a Commission of Inquiry under the Chairmanship of Justice V.S.Sirpurkar, former Judge, Supreme Court of India, and others to inquire into the circumstances in which the four persons, the accused, were killed in Hyderabad on December 6, 2019, while in the custody of the police.
16. TRIPURA: govt will set up a film institute in the state, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said on Wednesday. The institute will come up in collaboration with Kolkata’s Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute and allocation of ₹5.75 crore for it would be made this year,
17. UTTAR PRADESH : Polling completed peacefully for the fourth phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh. In the phase, 59 seats of 9 districts of state went for the poll. Around 58% voter turnout recorded till 5 PM.
18. WEST BENGAL: CM Mamata Banerjee spoke with NCP chief Sharad Pawar and expressed her support after the arrest of Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik in a money laundering case. As per reports, the call lasted for 10 minutes. The reports added that Banerjee urged him to not remove Malik from the state government.
19. India Ratings and Research (IRR) revised its GDP growth forecast for FY22 to 8.6%, down from the 9.2% projected earlier.
20. Banks have recovered ₹18,000 crore from fugitives Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the Supreme Court. The SC was told that the value of cases registered under the PMLA against the three is now ₹67,000 crore. As of July 2021, banks had recovered ₹13,109 crore after the sale of assets belonging to the three.

22. The Karnataka Police arrested Kannada actor Chetan Kumar Ahimsa for his alleged objectionable remarks against High Court Justice Krishna Dixit, who’s hearing the hijab matter. He had retweeted his old tweet in which he criticised Dixit for granting pre-arrest bail in an alleged rape case. Saying that he made “disturbing comments” earlier, Chetan asked, “Does he have the clarity required?”
23. The movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ starring Alia Bhatt has received a UA certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was approved by the board with minimal changes.
24. Actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar booked over obscene scenes involving minor kids in in the Marathi film ‘Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha’. A court has ordered probe in the matter, said police. Earlier, National Commission for Women (NCW) had written to I&B Ministry to censor the trailer and sexually explicit scenes in the film.

25. The Chief of the Army Staff General M M Naravane presented the Presidential Colours to the four parachute battalions at the Parachute Regiment Training Centre in Bengaluru today. The new colours venerated by the forces were presented to 11 Para Special Forces, 21 Para Special Forces, 23 Para and 29 Para battalions respectively.
26. Indian Air Force will participate in a multi-nation air exercise Ex Cobra Warrior 22 at Waddington in United Kingdom from 6th to 27th March. IAF Light Combat Aircraft LCA Tejas will participate in the exercise. Five Tejas aircraft will fly to the United Kingdom. IAF C-17 aircraft will provide the necessary transport support for induction and de-induction.
27. Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) associates have been arrested with arms and ammunition in J&K’s Shopian district. The Defence PRO, Srinagar, said the “hardcore terrorist associates” or Over Ground Workers (OGW) were apprehended based on specific intelligence of the presence of war-like stores in two villages in the district. Security forces also recovered ammunition from a nearby orchard.
28. LARGEST-EVER NAVAL EXERCISE MILAN: Navies of Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, South Korea, Bangladesh and Indonesia, along with QUAD members are among the 13 countries that will participate with their warships in the upcoming Milan exercise hosted by the Indian Navy.
Out of the 46 countries invited, around 40 have confirmed participation– while 13 are sending their warships, the rest will be represented by their delegations
29. Home Ministry said that the govt has approved the continuation of the Central Sector Umbrella Scheme of Border Infrastructure and Management from 2021-22 to 2025-26 at a cost of 13 thousand 20 crore rupees.
