1. Tamil Nadu Government has introduced 16 services including cleaning hospital wards and handling outpatient care as a measure of punishment for those who commit offences. The punishment measures has been brought in consultation with the courts.

2. Punjab Vigilance Bureau has filed a 40,000-page charge-sheet against Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former minister, Bikram Singh Majithia, in the disproportionate assets case, in a Mohali court.

3. The Supreme Court directed the Election Commission to accept claim forms of voters online, whose names are missing, without insisting on the physical submission of documents. The bench also clarified that the claim form could be submitted with any of the 11 documents originally listed by the ECI, or with an Aadhaar card.

4. The Haryana government issued a formal definition of forest in August 2025. This move follows directives from the Supreme Court of India, which required all states to clarify forest boundaries and conduct surveys.

5. Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) will move ahead with the demolition of the Fatima Owaisi Educational Campus built on the Salkam Cheruvu tank bed in Chandrayangutta once the final notification and full tank level (FTL) verification are complete.

Param Sundari, featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead roles, will hit the big screen on 29 August. A new song from the film, titled Danger , was released on August 21. Social media users have pointed out the similarities between the Bollywood song and a Pakistani track Laal Suit. The song featured in the 2023 Pakistani drama, Mannat Murad. Not the entire song, but netizens have alleged that the chorus of Danger sounds similar to the Pakistani song. The makers have not reacted to the claims yet.

The Indian government has given a major boost to its submarine acquisition and indigenous defence manufacturing initiatives by clearing the Defence Ministry and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) to formally begin contract negotiations with Germany’s ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) for the construction of six advanced submarines under the ambitious Project-75 India (P-75I) program.

The National Industrial Security Academy (NISA), CISF, Hakimpet, hosted the Passing Out Parade of the second batch of Assistant Sub-Inspectors, marking the completion of training for 700 subordinate officers, including 74 women. The officers are now set to take up operational responsibilities in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
