1. A Delhi Court extends judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and BRS leader K Kavitha till 7th May.

During the hearing of the contempt case against Patanjali over the publication of misleading advertisements, the Supreme Court on Tuesday (April 23) asked the Union Government why a letter was issued to State/UT licensing authorities, restraining action against ads pertaining to Ayurvedic and Ayush products under Rule 170 of the Drugs and Cosmetic Rules.

A DIVISION bench of the Calcutta High Court Monday cancelled the appointment of 25,753 teachers and non-teaching staff made through the State Level Selection Test (SLST) 2016 in schools sponsored and aided by the West Bengal government. The court also ordered them to return their salaries with interest, and asked the state’s School Service Commission (SSC) to initiate a fresh appointment process.
5. The Karnataka government’s decision to categorise the entire Muslim community as a backward caste for reservation purposes in the state has drawn criticism from the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), which said such blanket categorisation undermines the principles of social justice.

1.
