1. President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu will visit Karnal and Hisar in Haryana on Monday.
2. Celebration of National Panchayati Raj Day on 24th April : The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India in collaboration with the Government of Madhya Pradesh is commemorating National Panchayati Raj Day (NPRD) on 24th April, 2023 at Rewa in Madhya Pradesh as a major event as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) – Samaaveshi Vikaas (Inclusive Development) adopting Whole-of-the-Government approach. The Prime Minister will be the Chief Guest at the national function to be organised at Special Armed Forces Ground, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Scheme.
4. The Union Health Ministry, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has launched a unique initiative to develop 100 food streducein 100 districts across the country. This pilot project aims to promote safe and healthy practices to reduce food-borne illnesses.

1. Security has been beefed up in Dibrugarh
pro-Khalistan radical preacher Amritpal Singh will be shifted to a prison in the Upper Assam town from Punjab on Sunday.

4. An official of the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) died on Sunday after being hit by the tail rotor of a helicopter in Kedarnath. Amit Saini sustained severe neck injuries after the accident and died on the spot, Rudraprayag District Magistrate Mayur Dixit said. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered a detailed investigation into the incident.
5. BSP MLA Umashankar Singh on Sunday said gangster Atiq Ahmed’s wife Shaista Parveen has not been expelled from the party. “The party is sympathetic towards her,” Singh said, adding that if she is convicted, she will be expelled from the party.

1. Two IAF aircraft on standby in Saudi to evacuate Indians from Sudan: The Centre said it is making all out efforts to ensure safety of Indians stranded in Sudan. The government said that it is in touch with Sudan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and the US for the safe return of Indians. Two Indian Air Force C-130J aircraft are positioned on standby in Jeddah and INS Sumedha has reached Port Sudan.
2. India and China are holding the 18th round of corps commander level talks on 23 April at the Chushul-Moldo meeting point in the Eastern Ladakh sector.

The Army has now stepped-up efforts to train women officers for “command and leadership roles” as Colonels and beyond, even as the first five female cadets are set to be commissioned into frontline artillery regiments after passing out of the Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai on April 29.
Army empanelled 108 women officers for command assignments in the Colonel-rank, with “multiple policy waivers being granted”, through a special selection board earlier this year.
