Amritpal Singh arrested in Moga; being sent to Assam jail. Amritpal Singh was arrested in Punjab’s Moga district on Sunday, more than a month after the state police launched a crackdown against him following the storming of the Ajnala police station by his supporters to secure the release of an arrested associate.
1. The Indian Space Research Organisation, ISRO, launched PSLV-C55 with two Singaporean satellites, on April 22 at 2:19 pm from Satish Dhawan Space Center, Sriharikota. This is a dedicated commercial mission through NewSpace India Limited which is the commercial arm of ISRO.

1. Former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said that innocent people should not be harassed during the operation that has been started in Poonch district. He said that the killing of five army soldiers in Poonch was a security failure.
2. Uttar Pradesh government will soon form a panel that will help those whose land was grabbed by gangster Atiq Ahmed in the last four decades, officials said. Atiq and his brother Ashraf had allegedly grabbed a large number of properties in and around Prayagraj in the state.
3. Violence erupted in West Bengal’s Uttar Dinajpur district after a minor girl was allegedly raped and murdered by unidentified miscreants at Kaliaganj. The girl went missing on Thursday evening after she went to tuition classes and her body was found floating in the waters of a canal on Friday. Angry locals burnt tyres and allegedly pelted stones at police.

OLD WOMAN IN VIRAL VIDEO WASN’T WALKING TO BANK TO COLLECT PENSION: After a video of a 70-year-old woman walking barefoot in Odisha went viral, an SBI Branch Manager told Moneycontrol she wasn’t going to bank to collect pension, but was, instead, coming from her daughter’s house. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had shared the video and asked SBI to “act humanely”. “The video was misinterpreted,” the District Magistrate of Nabarangpur also said.

1. NO GST ON TRANSFER OF JAIPUR AIRPORT BUSINESS TO ADANI GROUP: The transfer of Jaipur International Airport’s operations by Airports Authority of India (AAI) to the Adani Group will not attract GST, Authority for Advance Ruling (AAR) said.
2. ICICI Bank Executive Director Sandeep Batra said a Cybernews report that claimed a misconfigured cloud storage exposed 3.6 million files of the bank was “baseless and false”.
3. ICICI Bank reported a 30% year-on-year rise in net profit for the quarter ended March 31. Net profit for the Q4 stood at ₹9,121.87 crore, compared with ₹7,018.71 crore a year ago. Meanwhile, its net interest income (NII) rose 40% to ₹17,667 crore.

1. The DRDO and the Indian Navy successfully conducted a maiden flight trial of sea-based endo-atmospheric interceptor missile off the coast of Odisha in the Bay of Bengal on April 21.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel took part in a joint ‘Exercise Cope India 2023’—a bilateral air exercise between IAF and the United States Air Force (USAF)—at the Arjan Singh air force station in Panagarh, West Bengal on April 20, 2023. The exercise Cope India 2023 is scheduled to conclude on April 24, 2023.
During this segment, United States Air Force (USAF) B1B bombers participated, followed by F-15 fighter aircraft.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) represented by the Su-30 MKI, Rafale, Tejas, and Jaguar fighter aircraft, along with aerial refuellers, Airborne Warning and Control System, and Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft.
