1. Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC), under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, will organise a programme to celebrate ‘Sign Language Day – 2025’ in New Delhi.

2. India’s plan to deploy 119 Earth Observation (EO) satellites by 2040 signals one of the largest space infrastructure programs in its history, with an estimated investment between ₹40,000 to ₹70,000 crore. These satellites will cover a wide mass spectrum — from lightweight sub-100 kg payloads to advanced over-1,000 kg platforms.

3. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) began its Online Short Term Internship Programme (OSTI). The two-week programme aims to provide college and university students with a comprehensive understanding of the promotion and protection of Human Rights in the country.

4. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs inaugurated the Adi Karmayogi Student Chapters at prestigious institutions such as IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, NITs, and other top-class universities, marking the beginning of a nationwide youth-led movement to foster leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and social development among tribal students.

5. The Central government announced plans to establish a major naval and commercial shipbuilding hub in Tamil Nadu with an investment of ₹30,000 crore, aimed at boosting India’s shipbuilding capacity and maritime infrastructure.

6. PM Modi inaugurated the developmental works of Mata Tripura Sundari temple under the PRASHAD scheme. With the inauguration of the developmental works, a new chapter has been added to Tripura’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

7. On the first day of Navratri, the Government has decided to provide 25 lakh additional LPG connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana during the current Financial Year.

8. Vice President Shri C P Radhakrishnan released four compiled books on the speeches of Prime Minister Narendra Modi titled Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishvash Sabka Prayas, published by the Publications Division in New Delhi.

9. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has said that the electric buses in the National Capital will be doubled by next year. She said that currently, around three thousand electric buses are running in the city, and by next year, the number will be six thousand.

10. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Bihar to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the major reduction and reforms in GST rates.

The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, are organising the 28th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) 2025, from 22 Sep 2025, in Visakhapatnam. The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Viksit Bharat: Civil Service and Digital Transformation.’

12. In Assam, voting began yesterday for the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) comprising five districts- Kokrajhar, Baksa, Chirang, Udalguri and Tamulpur to elect 40 member council.

13. Telangana state will oppose the proposal of the Karnataka state government to increase the height of Almatti dam across River Krishna. Telangana State Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the government will present its case on Karnataka’s proposal to increase the height of Almatti Dam.

14. Dhordo village in Gujarat’s Kutch district has become the fourth fully solar-powered village in the state under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, with 81 homes solarised, producing 177 kW and saving villagers around ₹16,064 annually each.

15. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Odisha today. The Met department also predicted similar conditions over Parts of Northeastern states, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, North Interior Karnataka, and Vidarbha.

1. The Next Generation GST reforms mark start of GST Bachat Utsav Across India: PM Modi has said that reduced GST rates will result in more savings for households and improved ease of doing business.

2. Union Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal launched Industrial Park Rating System (IPRS) 3.0 in New Delhi to benchmark industrial parks and boost the Make in India initiative. Developed by DPIIT with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), IPRS 3.0 introduces new parameters like sustainability, green infrastructure, digitalization, and logistics connectivity.

3. Jammu and Kashmir, the National Health Mission (NHM) has ordered a 5 per cent salary increment for all contractual employees. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that according to an order issued by Mission Director NHM J&K, it applies to all employees working under the programme at state, divisional, district and block levels, including NUHM and disease control programmes, for the financial year 2025-26.

4. The Maharashtra Airport Development Corporation approved 220 acres in MIHAN Special Economic Zone for Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited’s mega defense and aerospace project worth over ₹12,700 crore, expected to create 6,800 direct jobs.

1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will present the awards to the winners at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony in New Delhi today. The Best Feature Film Award will be given to the Hindi Movie ’12th Fail’, while the Best Hindi Film Award will be presented to the Hindi Movie ‘Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery’.

National Film Awards in the Best Actor category will be conferred to actor Shah Rukh Khan for his film Jawan and actor Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail. Legendary actor, director, and producer Mohanlal will also be conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2023.

2. Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan has reached Busan in South Korea yesterday, to be part of the 30th Busan International Film Festival. It is being held from September 17 to 26 September 2025, at the Busan Cinema Centre in Busan.

1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Morocco to inaugurate Tata Advanced Systems Maroc’s manufacturing facility for Wheeled Armoured Platform 8×8 at Berrechid, marking India’s first overseas defense manufacturing plant in Africa under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

2. Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, began a four-day official visit to Sri Lanka from September 22 to 25 with a strong emphasis on reinforcing Indo-Sri Lankan maritime security cooperation and regional stability in the Indian Ocean.

3. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan inaugurated the first Tri Services Academia Technology Symposium in New Delhi. The symposium is themed Victory through Wisdom and Researchaims to bridge the gap between academic innovation and military needs.

4. Indian Navy frigate INS Trikand arrived in Cyprus following joint naval exercises with the Greek Navy conducted in waters near Turkey, strengthening India’s Mediterranean presence and bilateral naval cooperation with Greece.

5. The Defence Research and Development Organisation and Indian Navy are preparing for ship-launched trials of the Indigenous Technology Cruise Missile (ITCM) with a 1,000-kilometer range, representing an advanced subsonic cruise missile derived from the Nirbhay program.

6. Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) has been designated to provide specialized raw materials for the potential Su-57 fighter jet production at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s Nashik facility, marking a significant step in the India-Russia defense cooperation for advanced fighter aircraft manufacturing.
