The top 25 candidates comprise 11 women and 14 men with the top five candidates comprising three women and two men. Shakti Dubey has secured the first position in the Civil Services Examination, 2024.

1. Andhra Pradesh IPS officer arrested for misuse of power. He was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials in Hyderabad in connection with the alleged harassment and wrongful arrest of a Mumbai-based actress. He is being brought to Vijayawada for further legal proceedings.

2. Indian yoga guru Baba Ramdev has told a Delhi court that he will take down adverts in which he made controversial remarks about a rival firm’s drink, criticised by a judge as “indefensible”.

Ramdev alleged that some brands used their profits to build mosques and madrassas in a video promoting a sweet drink made by his company Patanjali.

3. South superstar Mahesh Babu has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and asked to appear before court on April 27. According to the reports, Mahesh Babu has been called for grilling over money laundering allegations tied to a real estate fraud.

1. Relief operations in full swing in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir after Sunday’s cloud burst.

2. In Jammu & Kashmir, unidentified terrorists attacked a group of tourists in Pahalgam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The attack took place in the Baisaran forest area of Pahalgam, around 85 kilometres from Srinagar headquarters. The attack left some of the tourists injured, along with casualties. However, an exact number of injured and dead tourists is yet to be confirmed.

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemn the terror attack. Home Minister Amit Shah rushes to Srinagar to review the security situation.

2. Karan Johar has announced a new film that’s quite different from the usual Dharma crop. He will produce Naagzilla, starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead. It will release on August 14, 2026. It is directed by Mrigadeep Singh Lamba of Fukrey franchise.

1. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has taken over the security at Mizoram’s Lengpui Airport, about 32 km from the State capital of Aizawl. This will be the CISF’s first unit stationed in the State, and the 69th civilian airport under its protection.
