Market regulator SEBI has permitted mutual funds to again invest in foreign stocks within the aggregate mandated limit of $7 billion. SEBI has also set a separate limit of $1 billion for investment in overseas exchange-traded funds. SEBI had asked mutual funds to stop investing in foreign stocks to avoid breach of the industry-wide overseas limit it had set.

1. Kannada actor Diganth Manchale was airlifted from Goa to Bengaluru after he suffered an injury. The 38-year-old actor was reported to be holidaying in Goa. Media reports said the 38-year-old actor suffered injuries to his spinal cord and neck while attempting a backflip and was rushed to a hospital in Goa. Soon after, he was airlifted to Bengaluru

2. Actor Kamal Haasan praised actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for his performances. Praising him on a television show, Kamal said, “Starting from Dilip Kumar to Nawazuddin all are fantastic actors and sometimes I wish I could’ve done that.” Reposting the video, Nawazuddin wrote on Instagram, “Biggest compliment from my favourite actor!!” Recently Anil Kapoor also praised Nawazuddin for his performances.

DEFENCE:

1. The Chief of Army Staff, General Manoj Pande, on Monday, June 20, said that the Agnipath scheme was a win-win for both the youngsters and the Army. He urged aspiring applicants to not be misled by wrong information.

2. Recruitment process in Armed forces to remain unchanged: Tri-services on ‘Agnipath’ : The traditional regimentation system in the military will continue, said Lt Gen Anil Puri, additional secretary, Department of Military Affairs.

3. Indian Navy Chief of Personnel (COP) Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi said that ‘Agniveers’ can directly get into the Merchant Navy after serving four years in the armed forces.

4. Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were lost their life in a Maoist attack at a security post in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Tuesday. The deceased, including a jawan and two Assistant Sub-inspector rank.
