1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu has granted assent to the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Bill, passed by Parliament during the Winter Session.

2. The swearing-in ceremonies of the newly elected members of local self-government bodies were held across Kerala.

3. The two-day Panchayats- Extension to Scheduled Areas Act, 1996 – PESA festival will be held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, from Tuesday.

4. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced that the state government will enact a new law to curb hate speech against any religion or community, including acts of instigation and provocation that could trigger disturbances.

5. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar exhorted the Booth Level Officer of Telangana to make Special Intensive Revision (SIR) successful in the state, whenever it is taken up.

6. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that a statewide “Road Safety Month” with a focus on the 4E model “Education, Enforcement, Engineering and Emergency Care” will be observed next year from January 1 to 31.

7. Delhi government has intensified its enforcement drive under GRAP Stage IV to curb air pollution. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa warned of strict action against polluting industries and construction sites.

Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan participated in the birth centenary celebrations of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

12. The Railways has rationalised its fare structure with effect from the 26th of this month. Under the revised structure, there will be no increase in fares for journeys of up to 215 kilometres in the Ordinary Class. For journeys beyond 215 kilometres, fares will increase by one paise per kilometre in the Ordinary Class, while fares will go up by 2 paise per kilometre for Non-AC class in Mail and Express trains. In AC class, the railways has increased the fare by 2 paise per kilometre. It also highlighted that fare in suburban and monthly season ticket have not been increased.

13. External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar said that the Ramayana and the Mahabharata are not merely religious texts but profound guides that offer valuable lessons for global politics and diplomacy. He was speaking at the Pune Book Festival organised by the National Book Trust.

1. The Union Home Ministry has increased the quota of ex-Agniveers for constable recruitment in the Border Security Force (BSF) from 10 percent to 50 percent. According to a gazette notification, the first batch of ex-Agniveers will also get upper age-limit relaxation up to five years, while the rest of the ex-Agniveers will get relaxation of three years.

2. The Indian Army is intensifying its procurement of suicide drones, technically known as loitering munitions or Kamikaze drones, following critical lessons from Operation Sindoor in May 2025.A proposal to acquire 850 such drones for its special forces, along with naval and air force units, has reached an advanced stage.
