10. PM Narendra Modi will visit Bihar and West Bengal today. In Bihar, PM will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth around 13 thousand crore rupees at Gaya at around 11 AM. The Prime Minister will also flag off two trains and address the gathering. Thereafter, he will inaugurate the Aunta-Simaria bridge project on River Ganga. It will provide direct connectivity between Mokama in Patna and Begusarai.

The long-awaited Cabinet reshuffle in Goa finally took place as Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant inducted two new ministers: Former Chief Minister and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, along with Ramesh Tawadkar, the Canacona MLA, who recently resigned as Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly. The Oath-taking ceremony was held at the Raj Bhavan in Panaji, where Goa governor Ashok Gajapati Raju administered the Oath to newly appointed ministers.
12. The India Met Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall to continue in north Gujarat till the 23rd August. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also predicted at isolated places in entire north east, West Bengal, East Rajasthan and Madhya Maharashtra. Heavy rainfall may occur in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, Konkan, Goa and Odisha.

1. The Ministry of Defence will host its own global event, “Ran Samwaad – Conversation on War, Warfare and Warfighting”, at the Army War College in Mhow on August 26–27.
The two-day seminar will bring together defence attachés from 17 countries, senior officers of the Army, Navy and Air Force, along with scholars and academicians.
2. Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi along with his wife Mrs Sunita Dwivedi, President AWWA, on August 20, 2025, pledged to donate their organs at Army Hospital (Research & Referral), giving a significant boost to the Armed Forces Organ Retrieval & Transplantation Authority (AORTA). The initiative aims to encourage awareness and inspire the Armed Forces community to lead the nation in organ donation.
3. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) officially confirmed that the Government of India, through the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), has approved the procurement of 97 Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) TEJAS MK-1A fighter jets for the Indian Air Force (IAF).This ₹62,000-crore deal, one of the largest indigenous defence contracts in the country’s history.
4. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is set to conduct the final weapons firing trials of the indigenous TEJAS MK-1A fighter jet in September 2025.
5. India’s successful test-firing of the Agni-5 long-range ballistic missile from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, Odisha, marks a pivotal milestone in the nation’s strategic defence progression. The test, conducted on 21st August 2025.
