1. Voting has concluded peacefully for the second and final phase of Assembly Elections in Jharkhand and single phase polling in Maharashtra. The Election Commission has said that Maharashtra has recorded more than 58 cent voter turnout and Jharkhand recorded around 68 per cent voting when reports last came in.

2. In Jharkhand, voting was held in 38 constituencies in 12 districts in the state. In Maharashtra, elections for all 288 seats were held in a single phase in the state.

11. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has now issued an alert for a new cyclone in the Bay of Bengal. According to the forecast, a cyclone is likely to develop over the Andaman Sea, south of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, on November 21, 2024. This system is expected to intensify between November 22 and 23, with a low-pressure area forming by November 23.

12. The board exams for class 10 and 12 will begin from February 15, the Central Board of Secondary Education announced on Wednesday.

1. Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh held a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart Dong Jun in Laos. Defence Minister is on a three day visit to Laos to attend the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus). During the meeting, he will also address the forum on Regional and International Security Issues.

2. In Uttarakhand, the 11-day-long Air Force exercise began at Chinyalisaur Airport in Uttarkashi district. The exercise is scheduled to continue until the 28th of November. On the first day, the Air Force carried out landing and takeoff drills using its AN-32 multi-purpose transport aircraft.

3. Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, has embarked on a four-day visit to Nepal. The visit aims to strengthen military cooperation between the two militaries.

4. The Indian Army successfully conducted the “Sanyukt Vimochan 2024,” a Multilateral Annual Joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise, in Ahmedabad and Porbandar, Gujarat, on 18-19 November 2024.

5. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is advancing its Pinaka Rocket System by developing three new extended-range variants: 120 km, 150 km, and 200 km.
