3. The NIA on Monday arrested a man named Amaan Salim Shaikh was arrested from Mumbai. He is accused in the Visakhapatnam espionage case, which is related to leak of classified defence information through a Pakistani ISI spy network. He is the third accused to be arrested in the case.

8. The high court of Karnataka on Monday directed the prison authorities in Chitradurga to immediately release Shivamurthy Sharana, the pontiff of the Chitradurga Murugharajendra Bruhan Math, who was arrested and sent to judicial custody earlier in the day.

A non-bailable warrant was issued against the seer earlier on Monday by the second additional sessions judge BK Komala in Chitradurga, in the second Sexual Offences Act case against him.

The 54th edition of the International Film Festival of India commenced on November 20 in Goa. IFFI began with a gala opening ceremony, Inaugurated by Union Minister Anurag Thakur at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium in Panaji.

(a) The nine-day film festival, showcasing an eclectic array of world cinema to audiences worldwide.

(b) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that 198 international films would be screened at the event of which 13 would be premiered.

(c) A total of 32 entries across 10 languages from 15 OTT platforms have been selected for the inaugural Best Web Series award.

(d) Fifteen titles are vying for the Golden Peacock award, given to the best film award winner which will receive Rs 40 lakh as cash prize.

(e) Hollywood star Michael Douglas, will be honoured with the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award at IFFI.
