1. Registration for the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand begins yesterday. A record 1.75 lakh devotees registered on the first day by 5 PM today. This year, registrations will be Aadhaar-authenticated, and devotees will be required to provide their Aadhaar card details during registration.
2. Both the Houses of Parliament was adjourned for the day yesterday following DMK and some other opposition MPs protest over proposed delimitation of Lok Sabha and assembly constituencies.
3. The Government has approved over 1100 infrastructure projects under its various schemes related to food processing sector to provide benefit to over 5 lakh farmers. These schemes include Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana, Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industry and Centrally sponsored PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises scheme.
4. Cabinet Approves Namrup-IV Fertilizer Plant in Assam: The Union Cabinet, under the leadership of PM Modi, has approved the development of a Brownfield Ammonia-Urea Complex (Namrup-IV) within Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL), Namrup, Assam.
5. The Union Cabinet has sanctioned the Revised Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) to propel the livestock sector’s growth. This Central Sector scheme, now bolstered with an additional ₹1,000 crore, brings the total budgetary allocation to ₹3,400 crore.
6. India is making significant strides in nuclear energy with the launch of the Jaitapur Nuclear Power Plant in Maharashtra and the Gorakhpur Nuclear Power Project in Haryana, marking the country’s first nuclear facility in North India.
7. Ministry of Corporate Affairs hosted its second open house for the PM Internship Scheme to engage and support eligible candidates of the scheme. In a statement, the Ministry said that the initiative is part of the ministry’s commitment to addressing candidate queries and concerns throughout the application phase.
8. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram has said that the government is implementing various schemes to increase the literacy rate among Scheduled Tribes.
9. The government has approved the revised Rashtriya Gokul Mission to boost growth in the livestock sector. The implementation of the revised mission is being carried out with an additional outlay of one thousand crore rupees.
10. Five years after Covid-19 was declared a pandemic. the Indian government is reviewing a draft of a National Wildlife Health Policy (NWHP). This policy suggests monitoring wildlife diseases, doing more research, and setting up new testing labs. The policy aims to integrate disease surveillance, research, and diagnostics for better pandemic preparedness.
11. The estimated unemployment rate in the country has decreased from six per cent during 2017-18 to 3.2 per cent in 2023-24. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shobha Krandlaje said.
12. Kanger Valley National Park (KVNP) has been added to the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites under the ‘Natural’ category. This park, nestled in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh.

2. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) added 17 lakh 89 thousand members in January this year. This represents an increase of 11.48 percent in net members compared to December 2024. The Ministry of Labour and Employment attributed this surge to growing employment opportunities.

1. Defence Ministry approves 54 thousand crore rupee deal to procure Military and Air Defense equipments.
The government has given a nod for the procurement of 1350 horse power engines for T-90 tanks, Varunastra Torpedoes and Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircraft systems. The approval was given during the Defence Acquisition Council meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. This procurement will costume over 54 thousand crore rupees.
2. Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has been selected as one of the astronauts for India’s upcoming human space mission, Gaganyaan. This announcement was made in the Lok Sabha by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh.
3. The Armed Forces Medical Services – AFMS and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences – NIMHANS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding – MoU to collaborate on research, training, and specialized mental health support for military personnel and their families.
