1. Vice President Dr C P Radhakrishnan yesterday launched a book titled Chalice of Ambrosia: Ram Janmabhoomi-Challenge and Response in New Delhi yesterday. The book is written by former secretary to the Government of India Surendra Kumar Pachauri.
2. Centre has notified the Central Motor Vehicles (Second Amendment) Rules, 2026 to strengthen compliance towards user fee payment at the toll plazas on National Highways. These amendments are aimed at improving user fee compliance, enhancing efficiency of Electronic Toll Collection and discouraging user fee evasion on National Highways.
3. The budget session of the Kerala Assembly began yesterday at Thiruvananthapuram. Finance Minister KN Balagopal will present the state budget on 29th of this month. According to the Legislative Assembly calendar, the present session will continue till 26th March of this year.
4. The Union government has announced India’s first Tailings Policy, a major step towards recovering critical minerals from mining waste such as tailings, mine dumps and overburden. The policy focuses on tapping hidden mineral value from existing mines to strengthen domestic supply chains, reduce import dependence, and support India’s clean energy and self-reliance ambitions.
5. India has started the second range wide Dolphin Survey under Project Dolphin from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh. The nationwide exercise aims to estimate dolphin populations in rivers and coastal regions.
6. In Telangana, Hyderabad’s Mehdipatnam skywalk, over 90% complete, is set to open by March 2026. The 390-metre steel and glass pedestrian bridge will ease traffic, feature 13 elevators, LED lights, coffee shops, and accommodate 30,000 daily pedestrians.
7. India has launched its first open-sea marine fish farming project in the Andaman Sea to promote finfish and seaweed cultivation. The pilot project aims to boost livelihoods, advance marine science, and strengthen India’s Blue Economy using open-ocean technologies.
8. Bharat has marked a significant milestone in its ambitious space program by inviting domestic industry to contribute to the construction of its Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS).The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), through its Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), has issued an Expression of Interest (EoI) for the fabrication of two sets of the BAS-01 structure.
9. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has issued a notification declaring Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Aravalli mountain range, as an Eco-Sensitive Zone.
10. Nitin Nabin, a senior BJP leader from Bihar, is set to take over as the party’s new national president. Nitin Nabin was born in May 1980, months after the BJP was founded, making him the first party president younger than the organisation he now leads nationally.
11. The President of India has recently appointed Shri Praveen Vashista as Vigilance Commissioner in the Central Vigilance Commission under the provisions of the Central Vigilance Commission Act, 2003. Shri Praveen Vashista is a 1991-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Bihar cadre.

1. Enforcement Directorate conducted search operations at 21 locations across Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The searches were conducted in connection with the misappropriation of gold and other temple assets relating to Sabarimala Temple.
2. The ED is also conducting searches in Jharkhand, Manipur and Kolkata in connection with a massive fake Input Tax Credit scam worth around 658 crore rupees. The case involves firms accused of generating and availing fraudulent ITC through fake invoices without any actual supply of goods or services.
3. In Jammu and Kashmir, several individuals were detained for questioning as a massive search operation to flush out terrorists entered the third day in the upper reaches of Kishtwar district yesterday. The operation was launched in Sonnar village near Mandrel-Singhpora in the Chatroo belt on Sunday, leading to a gunfight that left one paratrooper dead and seven others injured.

1. India’s 2026 Republic Day Parade on Kartavya Path will mark a significant shift in how military strength is presented to the public. For the first time, the Indian Air Force will showcase an operational formation based on “Operation Sindoor”, highlighting real-world battle integration rather than traditional static displays.
Operation Sindoor was a high-precision tri-services military campaign launched in May 2025 following a major terror attack in Pahalgam.
