1. The preparation for the General Budget 2023-24 (Budget 2023-24) is going on in full swing. The government can give big relief to taxpayers in the budget to be presented in February next year. Up to ₹ 5 lakh can be exempted in income tax.
2. Retail inflation for farm and rural workers rose to 6.87% and 6.99%, respectively, in November on annual basis, mainly due to lower prices of certain food items.
3. Finance Ministry on Tuesday said that the government has raised more than ₹4.04 lakh crore through disinvestment and strategic sale of public sector enterprises since 2014. The ministry informed that the exchequer raised ₹69,412 crore through strategic sales in 10 companies, including Air India.
