1. The Supreme Court questioned the urgency of the Madras High Court in hearing Savukku Shankar’s plea on Tamil Nadu’s Sanipreneur scheme during vacation, and paused its order pending wider hearings.
2. The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear a plea by Ashoka University Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad challenging his arrest by Haryana police for his alleged social media comment on ‘Operation Sindoor.
3. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi today accused the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting the Armed Forces through his comments on Operation Sindoor.
4. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has formed a committee to investigate the incident in which a PSLV rocket failed to place the Earth observation satellite, EOS-09, into its intended orbit. ISRO Chairman V Narayanan said that the committee held several rounds of discussions to identify the cause.
5. Alleged Pakistani spy Shahzad, arrested by the Uttar Pradesh ATS from Moradabad, was produced before a special court in Lucknow. The court has sent the accused to 14-day judicial custody. The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) had arrested Shahzad for allegedly passing on intelligence information during the cross-border smuggling.
6. The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to list for urgent hearing a plea seeking registration of an FIR against Allahabad High Court’s Justice Yashwant Varma in connection with the cash discovery row.
