The Union Ministry of Education allocated funds to 78 universities nationwide, including MBB University, as part of the Prime Minister’s Higher Education Mission (PM-USHA) to enhance infrastructure.

1. The Haryana government on Monday further extended the ban on mobile internet and bulk SMS services in seven districts by a day till February 20 in the wake of the farmers’ ongoing ‘Dilli Chalo’ agitation.
2. The police have recovered a huge cache of explosives and other materials allegedly buried by Maoists in a forest in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district. The Maoists had planned to blow up a pressure cooker near a police station with two kilos of explosives, officials said. The bomb squad located and defused the pressure cooker bomb, avoiding a major incident.
3. Assam Rifles recovered weapons and war-like stores in Mizoram and Manipur. The Public Relations Officer of IGAR (East) said that acting on specific intelligence, Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police carried out a search operation in the general area of Chaltlang Sairang road near Ruat Ruati Enterprise on 15 February.

1. Bramayugam movie box office collection Day 4: Rahul Sadasivan’s Mammootty-starrer recorded its highest single-day box office collection on Sunday, surpassing the Rs 10 crore mark in the domestic market, movie earns Rs 25 cr worldwide.
The makers of ‘Bramayugam’ have altered the name of the central character played by Mammootty in the movie. The character, which was originally named Kunjumon Potti, will now be addressed as Kodumon Potti in the film. The change was made after the head of Punjamon Illam, a 200-year-old Brahmin household in Kottayam, approached the High Court.
2. Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s sports drama, ‘Lal Salaam’, featuring Superstar Rajnikanth in an extended cameo, has maintained a stable performance at the box office despite mixed reviews.
The legendary cricketer Kapil Dev also makes a brief appearance in the film. Pravin Baaskar serves as the editor, while the music is composed by AR Rahman.
3. Six day cultural and theatrical extravaganza of National School of Drama (NSD) the Bharat Rang Mahotsav concluded, at Kalidas Rangalaya in Patna, Bihar. It was commenced on 14th February.

1. Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi took over as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff from Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar, who now has been appointed as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command.
