1. Flights to destinations across Uttar Pradesh are also planned. The company aims to make air travel affordable for middle-class passengers and first-time flyers. International operations are anticipated in 2028 or 2029.

1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday said 98.41 per cent of the Rs 2,000 banknotes in circulation have been returned. The RBI had announced the withdrawal of Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes from circulation on 19 May 2023.
2. India has overtaken Japan to become the world’s fourth-largest economy in nominal GDP terms, with output estimated at around $4.18 trillion. The achievement places India behind only the United States, China and Germany, marking one of the most dramatic climbs in global economic rankings in recent history.
3. The government has launched a ₹4,531 crore Market Access Support (MAS) scheme for FY26–31 to help Indian exporters, especially MSMEs, expand global reach through trade fairs, buyer-seller meets, and new market access initiatives.
4. The total gross Goods and Services Tax, GST collections grew 6.1 per cent to around one lakh 75 thousand crore rupees in December, 2025 as compared to the same month in 2024. The total gross GST revenue in December, 2024 was over one lakh 64 thousand crore rupees.

1. ‘Dhurandhar’ movie is all set to RE-RELEASE in theaters with a revised version after directives from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
2. ‘Ikkis’, movie starring Agastya Nanda and directed by Sriram Raghavan, tells the real-life story of Khetarpal, a brave soldier who became the youngest ever recipient of the Param Vir Chakra at just 21.
In Ikkis, the 24-year-old actor essays the role of Khetarpal, who was martyred at the age of 21 during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. For his courage and sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, making him the youngest recipient of India’s highest military honour at the time.
Veteran actor Dharmendra, as well as actors Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikander Kher, round out the cast of Ikkis.

1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has credited the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) with playing a pivotal role in Operation Sindoor. Speaking on the occasion of DRDO’s 68th Foundation Day at its headquarters in New Delhi.
The Organisation was established in 1958 as the Research and Development wing of Ministry of Defence to make India self-reliant in the defence manufacturing sector.
2. The second edition of the joint military exercise Desert Cyclone between the Indian Army and the UAE Land Forces concluded with a closing ceremony at Al-Hamra Training City in Abu Dhabi on December 30, marking the successful completion of nearly two weeks of intensive bilateral training.
3. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday (January 1, 2026) said the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will play a pivotal role in the creation of Sudarshan Chakra, an ambitious air defence initiative announced by PM Modi.
