1. The Supreme Court has rejected a plea by Mahatma Gandhi’s great-grandson, Tushar Gandhi, who had appealed against the redevelopment project of Sabarmati Ashram. Gandhi claimed in his plea that the redevelopment would “alter the topography of the century-old ashram”.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a plea challenging the permission granted by the Allahabad high court to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to whitewash the Jama Masjid in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal from the outside and install decorative lighting, provided no tampering was done to the structure.
3. The Delhi Court directed the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) and further investigation against BJP leader and Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra over his alleged involvement in the 2020 riots in the northeastern part of the city.

KANCHA GACHIBOWLI LAND AUCTION : A Massive protest rocks University of Hyderabad campuscampus : University of Hyderabad (UoH) students on Tuesday launched a massive protest on the university campus against the State government’s decision to clear the forested land in Kancha Gachibowli and auction it for revenue resources.
The Telangana government’s plans to develop IT infrastructure and others on 400 acres of land over which student groups of UoH held protests. The TGIIC (Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation) on Monday said it has proved its ownership of the land in court and that the UoH (a Central university) does not own any land in the land parcel in question.
According to Ecological Heritage report, Clearing the Kancha Gachibowli Forest (KGF) will be a major jolt to Gachibowli and surrounding areas, which are already struggling to breathe, as absence of the forest will increase the temperature from 1 to 4 degrees centigrade throughout the area.
6. The Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth over Rs 110 crore of Lakhani India Limited and its group companies in connection with a bank loan fraud case. The companies are accused of defrauding multiple banks by misappropriating and diverting funds, leading to a fraud amounting to Rs 162 crore.
7. The Mumbai police on Tuesday issued a third summons to stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra and asked him to appear before them on April 5 in a case filed for allegedly making derogatory remarks on Maharashtra deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at a show in Mumbai.

2. A fire broke out in Krishna Apra complex at Noida’s Sector 18 market, causing several people to suffocate. 1. Army mountaineers to scale Kanchenjunga by the end of May 2025. The mountaineering team of the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS) has set off to scale Kanchenjunga, the highest peak in India. Standing tall at more than 8,000 metres, it is also the third highest peak in the world.
Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth flagged off the NIMAS Mount Kanchenjunga Expedition 2025, the mission will begin on April 7.
2. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the Army Field hospital established by an Indian medical contingent has treated around 104 patients as part of Operation Brahma in the earthquake-hit Myanmar.
3. Force Motors Limited has landed a contract to supply 2,978 Force Gurkha light vehicles to the Indian Defence Forces. This marks a significant milestone for the manufacturer and reinforces the OEM’s strategic importance in India’s defence logistics.
4. Defence exports have surged to a record high of over 23,600 crore rupees in the Financial Year (FY) 2024-25, registering a growth of 12.04% . The Ministry, in a statement today, said that Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) have shown a significant increase of 42.85 percent, with 8,389 crore rupees in exports.
5. The fourth edition of EXERCISE TIGER TRIUMPH, the bilateral Tri-Service India-US Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief exercise has begun today at Visakhapatnam. This exercise is aimed at developing interoperability and formulation of Standard Operating Procedures for conducting Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations between the two countries.
6. On April 1st, INS Gharial departed Visakhapatnam for Yangon, Myanmar, carrying 440 tonnes of relief material, including rice, edible oil, and medicines, as part of India’s “Operation Brahma” to support earthquake-stricken Myanmar.
