1. Over 196 crore COVID vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

2. *POLIO IMMUNIZATION 2022*: The first Sub-National Immunization Day for 2022 for administering Polio vaccine drops is being conducted from today, 19th June 2022 in 11 states/ UTs of the country – Bihar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, & WB.

Booths will be set up at 110 metro stations in Delhi to reach out to more people as part of the Pulse Polio Immunisation programme from June 19-24. Directorate of Family Welfare, GNCTD will deploy teams from 8 am to 8 pm on all six days.

3. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated National Yoga Olympiad – 2022 and quiz competition in New Delhi. The National Yoga Olympiad is being organised jointly by the Ministry of Education and the National Council of Educational Research and Training till the 20th of this month.

4. Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will lead the yoga celebrations from the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat on the occasion of the 8th International Day of Yoga, IDY, on 21 June.

Leaked WhatsApp voice recordings from the group called ‘Hakimpet Army Soldiers’ showed how a person ordered his ‘battalion’ to buy petrol and burn down coaches and buses. The chats also showed that they planned an attack at Vizag railway station on Saturday morning.

8. *BIHAR* Govt has instructed security forces to take stern action against trouble makers in the state amid Bihar Bandh called by various youth and student unions against provisions of the Agnipath Scheme.

9. Bihar govt has suspended internet services in 15 districts till 19 June to maintain law and order situation in the state. Still now 620 arrested, 130 FIRs lodged in 3 days over protests.

10. The District Magistrate of Bihar’s Patna on Saturday said that the role of seven to eight coaching centres behind protests against the Centre’s Agnipath scheme was established during interrogation of those arrested for violence and arson in the city.

11. *GUJARAT* : PM Modi participates in ‘Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan’ programme at Vadodara; Inaugurates and lays foundation stones of development projects worth over 21 thousand crore rupees digitally at Vadodara in Gujarat on 18 June.

12. PM Modi unveiled the redeveloped temple of Shree Kalika Mata at Pavagadh Hill in Panchmahal district of Gujarat. He also performed Puja with traditional rituals at the temple.

13. *J&K* : Amid the increasing water level of the Chenab River Salal Power Station in the Reasi district has issued an advisory to the general public to remain cautious & careful and not to camp or visit river Chenab front and also keep the livestock away from the river banks and do not try to cross the river from any unprotected places or mediums so as to avoid the risk of loss of life or property.

14. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said, there is a strong possibility of the electoral process starting in Jammu and Kashmir by the end of this year. He was speaking at a function in Jammu yesterday to mark 200 years of the coronation of Maharaja Gulab Singh.

16. *MEGHALAYA* : World’s wettest place Mawsynram receives 1003 mm rain in 24 hrs, sets new June record
It is the highest rainfall recorded in Mawsynram in June since the record-keeping began in 1940. Meghalaya’s Cherrapunji, which is also regarded as one of the wettest places on Earth, meanwhile, received 972 mm of rainfall on Friday.

20. *TELANGANA* The Telangana High Court has taken up the issue of illegal collection of heavy parking fees by certain hospitals, commercial establishments, malls and cinema theatres under the guise of maintenance and security or some other reasons, which is in utter violation of municipal rules.

21. *UTTAR PRADESH* : 163 inmates lodged in Uttar Pradesh prisons have cleared the state Class 10 and Class 12 board exams, an official said on Saturday.

22. *NEW APPOINTMENT* : Retired judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai has been appointed as the chairperson of the Press Council of India. Justice Desai is the first lady chairperson of the council.

The govt has declared computer resources of ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and UPI managing entity NPCI to be ‘protected systems’ under the IT Act, 2000. This implies that any harm to these resources can have an impact on national security, economy, public health or safety. Further, any unauthorised person accessing these resources may be jailed for up to 10 years.

1. The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to reserve 10 per cent vacancies for recruitment in Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles for Agniveers.

2. The Ministry has also decided to give three years age relaxation beyond the prescribed upper age limit to Agniveers for recruitment in Central Armed Police Force and Assam Rifles. It said, for the first batch of Agniveer, the age relaxation will be for five years beyond the prescribed upper age limit.

3. Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) will reach out to the youth across the country in a mission mode to highlight the salient features of the new transformative reform Agnipath Scheme and to popularize it among the youth.

4. Army Chief General Manoj Pande on Saturday said that transformational reforms are underway in the armed forces in various domains. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing robotics and hypersonics are no longer confined to theories but are physically manifesting on battlefields.
