1. ED arrests Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, in connection with alleged multi-crore liquor scam.
2. Drishti IAS coaching institute founder and social media influencer Vikas Divyakirti has moved the Rajasthan High Court against a defamation complaint filed against him.
The complaint relates to a purported video in which Divyakirti made certain utterances over the functioning of the legal system and the judiciary.
3. Sitting High Court Judge, Justice Yashwant Varma has petitioned the Supreme Court challenging his indictment by the three-member in-house committee in the cash-discovery row. The writ petition filed before the Apex court also sought to quash the communication forwarded by then Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna to the President and then Prime Minister to take action against Justice Varma.

The first meeting of the Steering Committee for the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) was held today at NFDC headquarters in Mumbai. Chaired by Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the meeting was attended by Secretary, Ministry of I&B, Sanjay Jaju, festival director Shekhar Kapur, and other key industry figures.
The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is scheduled to take place in Goa from November 20-28, 2025.

1. India successfully test-fired the Prithvi-II and Agni-I short-range ballistic missiles from the integrated test range in Chandipur, Odisha, on 17 July 2025,

India’s Defence Ministry approved a ₹61,000 crore partnership with France’s Safran to co-develop a new 120kN next-generation jet engine for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program, including full technology and intellectual property transfer.
