12. The 53rd edition of the World Book Fair concluded yesterday evening. Organised by the National Book Trust, the nine-day fair witnessed the participation of over a thousand publishers from more than 35 countries.

1. The Government has debunked a video circulating on social media which claims that legal minimum wage will not be determined under the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has informed that the viral claim is misleading.
2. Delhi Police Cyber Team has busted an inter-state investment fraud syndicate, arresting eight notorious cyber fraudsters. According to the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abhimanyu Poswal, the gang’s modus operandi involved luring people into fake investment schemes by contacting them via WhatsApp calls.
3. The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has dismantled an international drug syndicate, leading to the seizure of psychotropic substances valued at approximately 5 crore rupees in the international market. According to the Delhi Police, the arrested individuals are Nigerian nationals.
4. In Uttar Pradesh, police have registered 8 separate FIRs over alleged circulation of misleading content on social media related to Manikarnika Ghat reconstruction work in Varanasi.
5. In Chhattisgarh, an encounter between security forces and Maoists has been continuing in district. Two more bodies were recovered from the encounter site today. With this, the total number of Maoists killed in the encounter has risen to six, including four women Maoists.
6. Delhi Police has busted an organised network involved in printing and supplying duplicate NCERT textbooks. By conducting a raid in Loni area of Ghaziabad, Delhi Police recovered a total of 44,862 duplicate NCERT textbooks and two offset printing press machines along with paper reels, valued at 2 crore rupees.
