8. GUJARAT :. 2008 Ahmedabad serial bomb blast: A special court in Gujarat has given death sentence to 38 out of 49 convicts. The rest 11 convicts have been sentenced to life imprisonment. A series of bomb blasts had killed 56 people and left over 200 injured in Ahmedabad, within 70 minutes, on July 26, 2008. It was alleged that the IM terrorists had planned these blasts to avenge the 2002 post-Godhra riots.

HIMACHAL PRADESH: The National Investigation Agency on Friday arrested its former SP and an IPS officer Arvind Digvijay Negi for allegedly leaking secret documents to an over ground worker of the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba. KARNATAKA: govt has told High Court, that’s hearing students’ petitions, that wearing a hijab isn’t an essential religious practise under Islam and that banning it on educational institutions’ campuses doesn’t violate the Constitution. 23. Women army officers to finally get pension after a year. SSC women army officers, who became eligible for pension following the 2020 Supreme Court order, were facing financial hardships as they had not been paid pension for a year. The women officers will get their pension for February along with arrears running into several lakhs by the month-end. Defence Accounts Department (DAD) is headed by the Controller General of Defence Accounts.
