digital shakti campaign to skill women in cyberspace

1. Last date for submission of applications for the National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) for the year 2022-23 has been extended till 30th of this month. The Education Ministry said, under the scheme, scholarships are awarded to meritorious students of economically weaker sections to stop their drop out at class 8th level and encourage them to continue their education. The amount of scholarship is 12 thousand rupees per annum.

2. Minister of State for Education Dr Subhas Sarkar has said that the government is committed to transforming India into a global education hub and attracting international students.

3. National Commission for Women Launched the fourth phase of the Digital Shakti Campaign, a pan-India project Digital Shakti 4.0 on digitally empowering and skilling women and girls in cyberspace.

19. The government on Thursday extended the tenure of Enforcement Directorate Director Sanjay Kumar Mishra by one year. The extension comes a day before his retirement. The Centre had earlier extended his tenure till November 18, 2022. This is the third extension for Mishra as the director of the federal agency.

1. Minister of State for Finance for Finance Bhagwat Karad presents 8th FICCI higher education excellence Awards 2022. He also emphasises the significance of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, a programme for financial inclusion, and claimed that , it was a big success for the government because under the scheme more than 47 crore accounts were opened.

2. A Session on Financial Action Task Force and India’s Priorities in G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group, ACWG was organised by Department of Revenue in New Delhi on 17 Nov. It came on the eve of 3rd “No Money For Terror” Ministerial Conference on Counter-Terrorism Financing.

3. Tata Group is considering a plan to integrate its four airline brands under Air India, as per reports. The group plans to merge Air India with full-service carrier Vistara, along with budget carriers Air India Express and AirAsia India.

4. The launch of 5G services will strengthen India’s position as an economic and technology powerhouse globally and is expected to boost 2% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), amounting to approximately $180 billion by 2030, according to a new report by industry body Nasscom.

Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran-starrer ‘Drishyam 2’ has collected ₹3 crore in advance booking after selling around 1.25 lakh tickets by Thursday afternoon. The film will be a sequel to Ajay’s 2015 film ‘Drishyam’, which was directed by late filmmaker Nishikant Kamat.

1. Army Chief General Manoj Pande who is on a four-day visit to France, received a Guard of Honour at the Les Invalides in Paris yesterday.

2. Army organized an Ex-Servicemen Rally at Shalateng Garrison on 17 Nov. The Rally attracted over 300 ex-servicemen and their dependents from North Kashmir area.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of India’s definitive victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war, the Ex-Servicemen’s rally kicked off with wreath laying ceremony at the War Memorial, paying respects to our brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

3. Ahir regiment protest to be held in Gurugram on 18 Nov today, by the members of the Ahir community near the Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurugra. They are demanding a separate regiment in the Indian Army. Like Punjab Regiment, JAT Regiment, MARATHA Regiment etc.

4. Army has deployed new landing docks and speed boats for patrolling on the Pangong Tso Lake in Eastern Ladakh matching the Chinese deployments on the lake located close to 14,000 feet.This is part of an overall capability enhancement and infrastructure.

5. Indian Army is making a large number of ponds to get fresh drinking water for the troops even in freezing winters.

INS Trikand participated in the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) led Focused Operation “Sea Sword 2” in the Northwest Arabian Sea to counter terrorism, prevent narcotics trade and stop smuggling entities from using the seas for their nefarious activities.The Operation “Sea Sword 2” was held from November 6-14, 2022.
