Each applicant must submit a demand draft (DD) of Rs 3,000 along with the application form. The fee is mandatory for candidates seeking AIMIM nomination, and the last date to apply is January 20.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has firmly distanced itself from Salman Khan’s forthcoming film “Battle of Galwan”, emphasising that it plays no role in such cinematic ventures. During a weekly media briefing on Friday, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal responded to queries about the movie by stating that film-making matters in India fall under the purview of relevant authorities.
Battle of Galwan (2026) is an upcoming Hindi war-action film starring Salman Khan and Chitrangda Singh, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, featuring Khan as an Indian Army officer and exploring themes of bravery and patriotism, with a planned April 17, 2026 release, though it has also faced controversy from Chinese media for potentially distorting facts.

1. Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron (1TS), comprising INS Tir, INS Shardul, INS Sujata, and Indian Coast Guard Ship Sarathi, arrived at Changi Naval Base, Singapore, on 15 Jan 2026. The squadron is on a training deployment to the South East Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
2. The Defence Procurement Board (DPB) has approved a significant proposal to acquire 114 Rafale fighter jets from French aviation manufacturer Dassault Aviation, marking a major boost to India’s aerial defence capabilities.
3. *India’s first theatre command likely by May 2026*: Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan has indicated that the first integrated theatre command will be operationalized by around May 2026, bringing the Army, Navy and Air Force elements under a unified structure to improve joint planning, warfighting and faster decision-making, and this initial command will act as the template for subsequent Northern, Western and Maritime theatre commands that are being finalized.
4. Bharat Forge’s aerospace division has secured about ₹300 crore worth of defence contracts under EP-VI norms to supply a family of indigenous unmanned systems, including Omega One and Omega Nine ISR drones as well as Bayonet and Cleaver loitering munitions.
