1. The Calcutta High Court has formed, a CBI- West Bengal Police (WBP) joint Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into attack on the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials at Sandeshkhali of North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on the 5th of January.
A team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) was attacked by the followers of Sahajahan Sheikh a local leader and Karmadhyakshya of Zila Parishad of ruling All India Trinamool Congress (AITC). Sahajahan Sheikh has not been arrested till now.
2. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached properties worth five crore rupees in the case of Mohammad Akbar Bhat and others in relation to terrorist activities.
3. Former Haryana chief minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda was on Wednesday questioned by the ED in connection with a money laundering investigation into alleged irregularities in land acquisition at Manesar during 2004-07.
4. The Supreme Court has given Karnataka IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri and IPS officer D Roopa another opportunity to settle their differences and barred them from making public statements on the case.
5. Punjab and Haryana high court ordered the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Punjab government to shift all 258 students of Chintpurni Medical College in Pathankot to other colleges. The college has remained in controversy for a long time.
The college was started in 2011 but closed in 2016 for not providing the basic infrastructure required . The college managed to get permission to accept admissions for MBBS batch again in 2021 and the permission continued in year 2022. Thereafter the permission was withdrawn again for lack of infrastructure and facilities.

1. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das stressed that according to the first advance estimate, released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), India’s economy is expected to grow at 7.3 percent in FY2024.
2. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday imposed a fine of Rs 1.2 crore on IndiGo and Rs 60 lakh on CSMI Airport, Mumbai (MIAL) in connection with the video of passengers eating on the tarmac at the Airport. The regulator said the reply to the show cause notice was received today and was not found satisfactory as the response submitted by MIAL showed that they had failed to adhere to the safety requirements.

6. The International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) at GIFT City in Gandhinagar announced a new collaboration with the Indian Gas Exchange (IGX) and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC). The goal is to jointly develop a Global Hydrogen Price Index.
