4. AHMEDABAD : Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport to partially remain shut from 17th Jan to 31st May due to ‘recarpeting work’. According to Airport sources, the airport will be closed for nine hours i.e. from 9 am to 6 pm every day.

5. J&K : Terrorists hurled a grenade on security forces in the Safakadal area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar on Sunday. In the incident, one police personnel and a civilian were reportedly injured. Terror group The Resistance Force (TRF) has claimed responsibility for the attack.

6. MANIPUR : The distribution of application form for postal ballot for PWDs and 80 plus elders have started for the forthcoming General Elections to 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly

7. PUNJAB: Assembly elections has been deferred to 20th February this year. Earlier, the poll was scheduled to take place on 14th February. The Commission had received several representations from State Government, Political Parties and other organizations drawing attention regarding movement of a large number of devotees from Punjab to Varanasi for participation in Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Jayanti celebrations, which is observed on 16th February. It has decided to reschedule the polls in the state.
Now, the notification will be issued on 25th January 2022. The counting of votes will take place on 10th March.

8. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday that the party will announce its Chief Ministerial candidate for upcoming Punjab Assembly polls today.

9. TELANGANA , Hyderabad: Online hotel operations come under police scanner. There were several instances in the city recently, where the police raided rooms of online hotel chains and found that rooms booked over the internet were being misused for gambling and even flesh trade.

10. The Telangana cabinet has decided to bring a legislation to regulate fees in all schools and colleges in the state. It has been decided to introduce English medium in all government schools from the next academic year. To prepare modalities and guidelines, a cabinet sub-committee has been constituted headed by education minister P Sabita Indra Reddy.

11. UTTAR PRADESH:PM Modi will interact with BJP workers in Varanasi at 11 AM on Tuesday. It is Mr Modi’s first political programme involving party workers after the Election Commission announced assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa. Polling in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases beginning 10th February.

12. Tata Power said that its subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy, has commissioned 100 megawatt (MW) of solar projects in Uttar Pradesh. As much as 50 MW of the plants have been built in Prayagraj, while the remaining capacity has been set up in Banda. The solar plants are expected to generate more than 221.3 million units of electricity every year.

China’s full-year GDP came in at 114.4 trillion-yuan (USD 18 trillion) in 2021, National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) data showed.
