sikkim cm declares incentives to have more kids

10. The hands of a brain dead 52-year-old woman in Indore in Madhya Pradesh were donated for transplantation into a Mumbai-based teen girl, which a health official on Monday said was the first case of its kind in the state and was a “revolution in the field of organ donation”.

11. The Kerala government on January 16 issued a notification asking the people to cover their noses and mouth in all public places. The state government also asked people to cover their faces and noses in all vehicles.

12. In Maharashtra: 83 candidates are in fray for biennial Legislative Council election. Voting for these seats will be held on 30th January, and votes will be counted on 2nd February.

13. Cold remained in minus for the second consecutive day in Jobner area of Jaipur, Rajasthan. Yesterday, the minimum temperature was recorded minus 4.2 degree Celsius. Churu minus -2.5 degrees, Sikar minus – 2.0, Fatehpur minus- 3.7, Alwar and Bhilwara 0 degrees respectively.

14. Amid birth control talks, Sikkim declares incentives to have more kids. The state government has proposed to give one increment to the women employees for giving birth to a second baby and two increments for producing a third child. This financial benefit will not be made available to a woman having only one child, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang said.

The estimated population of Sikkim stood at under seven lakh at present of which around 80 per cent belonged to the indigenous communities.

15. Allahabad High Court ruled that ordered private schools to waive 15 % of the fees collected during the Covid-19 period. The decision stands for all the schools in Uttar Pradesh for the academic session 2020-2021.

16. Telangana CM K. Chandrashekar Rao will inaugurate the newly-constructed Telangana Secretariat on February 17 on the occasion of his birthday.

1. Enforcement Directorate questioned Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal on Monday. Summon was issued to him regarding alleged irregularities in tenders of Corona centres in Mumbai.

2. Criminalisation of marital rape: Supreme Court seeks Centre’s reply.

Supreme Court on Monday sought the Centre’s response to a batch of petitions pertaining to criminalisation of marital rape and the Indian Penal Code provision which provides protection to a husband against prosecution for forcible sexual intercourse if the wife is an adult.

3. The two terror suspects arrested from the Jahangirpuri area, Delhi were assigned to carry out targeted killings of rightwing leaders on January 27 and January 31, Plolice recovered two hand grenades from their house in the Bhalswa Dairy area of Jahangirpuri.
