1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu inaugurates Aadi Mahotsav 2025.
Aadi Mahotsav aims to celebrate and showcase the vibrant culture, heritage, and economic potential of India’s tribal communities. It is being organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and will continue till 24th February.

2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that government aims to increase the textiles exports to nine lakh crore rupees by 2030 from the present three lakh crore rupees. Addressing the gathering at Bharat Tex 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Sunday.

3. Ministry of Ayush has announced the opening of nominations for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards for the 2025 edition of the International Day of Yoga.

4. Northern Railways operated four new Maha Kumbh Mela Special trains from Delhi to Prayagraj for the convenience of passengers and to clear extra rush during Maha Kumbh Mela.

5. Over 1.36 crore devotees took the holy dip till 6 pm on Sunday evening at the Triveni Sangam of Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. The grand festival continues to draw millions of devotees from across the world. Akashvani correspondent reports that so far 52.83 crore devotees have taken the holy in the Sangam so far.

6. Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar will be on a one-day tour to Chandigarh and Mohali in Punjab on Monday. During his visit, he will be the Chief Guest at National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (NABI), Mohali.

7. In Assam, a session of the legislative assembly will be held outside Guwahati for the first time, with Kokrajhar hosting the inaugural sitting of the Budget session today. The session will continue till 25th March.

11. A large number of people from across the country are visiting and exploring the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela held in Faridabad, Haryana. This year the partner states of the fair are Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. About six hundred participants from about 42 countries including Egypt, Ethiopia, Syria, Afghanistan, Belarus are participating in the fair.

1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu witnessed the inaugural show of Change of Guard Ceremony in new format at the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The ceremony will be open to larger number of visitors from 22 February 2025 in which people can witness a dynamic visual and musical performance, with the backdrop of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

2. The Ordnance Equipment Factory (OEF) in Hazratpur, Firozabad, is set to manufacture brake parachutes for the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jets, a significant step towards boosting indigenous defence production.The brake parachute system for the Su-30 fighter jet is a crucial safety mechanism designed to decelerate the aircraft during landing, preventing runway overruns.

3. Bharat Forge Ltd (BFL) and VEDA Aeronautics (P) Ltd have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and high-speed aerial weapon systems for battlefield applications. The signing took place at Aero India 2025.

4. The TEJAS MK-2 will have two new sensors that differentiate it from the TEJAS MK-1: the Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS) and the Infrared Search and Track System (IRST).

(a) MAWS provides 360-degree coverage around the aircraft, allowing for autonomous detection, tracking, and automatic cue generation for approaching missiles.

(b) The IRST is a long-range, dual-band system capable of tracking multiple targets and handling air-to-air and air-to-ground target tracking.

These sensors are being developed by the Instruments Research and Development Establishment (IRDE), a part of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

5. The border forces of India and Bangladesh will meet between February 17-20 at the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters for bi-annual talks. These discussions will address several key issues, including border fence construction and attacks on BSF personnel and Indian civilians by Bangladeshi miscreants.Discussions will focus on preventing attacks on BSF personnel and Indian civilians by miscreants.
