1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu will be on a five-day visit to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from today. During her visit, President Murmu will attend the convocation ceremony of AIIMS Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh, and also lay the foundation of various initiatives at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad.

2. PM Modi will visit Rajasthan. During the visit, he will participate in the ‘Ek Varsh-Parinaam Utkarsh’ program, which celebrates the completion of one year of the State Government of Rajasthan. On the occasion, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 24 projects related to energy, roads, railways, and water worth over 46 thousand 300 crores rupees at Jaipur, Rajasthan.

5. The ‘One Nation, One Election’ Bill is set to be introduced in the Lok Sabha by Law Minister Arjun Meghwal on Tuesday. Initially, the bill was scheduled for discussion on December 16. Copies of the bill have already been distributed to Members of Parliament for review. The winter session of Parliament concludes on December 20.

6. More than 61 lakh new subscribers added to EPFO for 2024-25: Labour and Employment Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said. He also informed that to boost the economy and increase employment generation, the government has announced an employment-linked incentive scheme in the union budget for 2024-25.

7. National Council of Educational Research and Training- NCERT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an E-Commerce platform to ensure the affordable and seamless availability of NCERT publications across the country.

8. The education ministry informed that the government will develop 620 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) under the PM SHRI scheme, which will focus on further strengthening the infrastructure and other amenities of the existing school.

9. Ninety-seven new ESI hospitals have been approved across the country in the last ten years. Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Shobha Karandlaje, said this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.

10. Telangana is experiencing a continued cold wave, with temperatures dropping sharply across the state. On Monday, December 16, 2024, 27 of the 33 districts recorded minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.

11. The Telangana Minority Finance Corporation (TGMFC) has invited applications under the Indiramma Mahila scheme to distribute free sewing machines to eligible women from minority communities.

*Women belonging to Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Jains and Parsi faiths, who are trained in sewing are eligible for the scheme. Applications should be submitted to the TGMFC website between December 16 and December 31.

12. The Commission for Air Quality Management has reimposed the revised third phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in the Delhi-NCR region following the sharp rise in air pollution.

The Shri Kartik Mahadev Temple, also known as the Bhasma Shankar temple, was reopened on December 13 during an anti-encroachment drive that uncovered the covered structure.
