DRI busts gold-smuggling syndicate; 11 held, 31 kg gold seized.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) busted a syndicate involved in smuggling foreign-origin gold through land and train routes from three locations. They seized 31.7 kg of gold from Mumbai, Nagpur and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

(b) An increase of the incentive under the ongoing Rythu Bandhu scheme to 16,000 rupees per year per acre.
(c) An increase of social welfare pensions to 5,000 rupees and for Divyangs to 6,000 rupees.
(d) Cooking gas cylinders to all eligible families at a cost of 400 rupees.

As part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Union ministry of education has planned to create ‘One Nation, One Student ID’ called ‘Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) for every student from pre-primary to higher education. This is in addition to the 12-digit Aadhaar ID that every student has.

1. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) busted a syndicate involved in smuggling foreign-origin gold through land and train routes. DRI teams across three locations, a huge quantity of smuggled gold, weighing around 31.7 Kg valued at around Rs. 19 crores, was seized in Varanasi, Nagpur and Mumbai on 13 and 14 October, 2023.
2. In Manipur, Normal life in the state was affected on Sunday following the dawn-to-dusk general strike called by multiple militant outfits to protest the merger of Manipur with India on 15 October 1949.
Coordinating Committee (CorCom), a conglomerate of at least five banned outfits including the United National Liberation Front (UNLF), has imposed the general strike from 6am to 6pm.

1. The Indian Air Force (IAF) may conduct an air show in Arunachal Pradesh, the first-ever such display of the force’s air power in the strategically crucial state bordering China, Air Marshal SP Dharkar said.
The Indian Air Force on Sunday organised an air display at Borjhar station involving various choppers and fighter aircraft like Sukhoi-30 and Rafale.
