1. PM Modi launches several development projects worth over 9,700 crore rupees in Gujarat, to mark 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

3. The Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment (AMRIT) initiative completed 10 years yesterday. 4. In Kerala, the all-party meeting convened by Chief Electoral Officer Rathan U. Kelkar regarding the SIR was held in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday. Chief Electoral Officer Kelkar said that 85 per cent of the enumeration forms have already been distributed in Kerala.

6. Mumbai has added a major milestone to its transport infrastructure with the inauguration of the Mandale Depot for Metro Line 2B. The elevated facility is now Asia’s largest metro depot, designed to improve operational efficiency and strengthen connectivity across the city’s eastern and western corridors.

Navi Mumbai International Airport will commence commercial flight operations on December 25, marking a major expansion of aviation capacity in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Two airlines, Akasa Air and IndiGo, have opened bookings for multiple domestic routes ahead of the launch.

9. Maithili Thakur, a 25-year-old singer-turned-politician, has won the Alinagar Assembly seat in the 2025 Bihar elections, making her the state’s youngest MLA. Contesting as a BJP candidate, she secured 84,915 votes, defeating RJD’s veteran leader Binod Mishra, who received 73,185 votes. 1. The Delhi government has eased compliance for businesses by abolishing the mandatory 21-year renewal requirement under the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act, 1954. The move aims to simplify formalities, reduce regulatory burden and support a smoother business environment in the National capital.

2. An MBBS student has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in West Bengal’s Uttar Dinajpur district for his alleged links to terror outfits. The accused, identified as Janisur Alam alias Nisar Alam, an MBBS student of Al-Falah University, Haryana, and resident of Ludhiana with ancestral roots in Konal village near Dalkhola in Uttar Dinajpur.

3. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has said that Gate number two and three of the Lal Qila Metro Station are now open for commuters. The Lal Qila Metro Station was earlier closed after the blast in a car near Red Fort in Delhi on Monday. Delhi Police has also reopened the Netaji Subhash Marg for regular traffic.

4. The State of Tamil Nadu has approached the Supreme Court challenging the President of India’s decision to withhold assent to the Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Medical Degree Courses Bill, 2021. The Bill seeks to exempt the State from the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and restore admissions based on Class XII marks with a scientific system of normalization.

5. Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani will appear virtually before the Enforcement Directorate. He received a summons under FEMA related to a 2010 highway project. The ED is investigating alleged hawala transactions of Rs 100 crore. Ambani’s spokesperson stated he will fully cooperate. The matter concerns a road contractor and a domestic contract. The highway project is now with the NHAI.

J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat said that the deceased include one personnel of State Investigating Agency, three personnel of Forensic Science Laboratory team, 2 crime scene photographers, two revenue officials who were part of the Magistrate’s team and one Tailor associated with the team.

1. Godrej Agrovet Limited (Godrej Agrovet), one of India’s largest diversified agri-food businesses, signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Government of Andhra Pradesh (AP).

Under this MoU, the company would be investing Rs. 70 crore to expand the dairy processing and value-added product capacities in its dairy business and set up new Samadhan Centers – one-stop solution center for Oil Palm Farmers.

2. Anant Raj subsidiary Anant Raj Cloud has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Andhra Pradesh for the development of new data center facilities and an IT park in the eastern coastal state.

The MoU was signed with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB), in the presence of Nara Lokesh, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

1. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan penned a lengthy note on his social media on Saturday expressing his gratitude for getting a commercial tower in Dubai named after him.

The commercial tower is called “Shahrukhz” and is slated to be completed by 2029. It will feature a statue of the actor at the entrance, in his signature pose.

2. Director S.S. Rajamouli has unveiled the title and first glimpse of his highly anticipated movie “Varanasi” at a launch event in Hyderabad,
introducing the project that stars Telugu cinema superstar Mahesh Babu alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

3. ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban,’ starring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in the lead role, is set to release in Japan nearly two years after its theatrical debut in India. The makers have announced that the dubbed version of the film will be released in Japan on January 17.

1. The Indian Air Force (IAF) will participate in the 8th edition of the bilateral air exercise- Garuda 25 in France from tomorrow. IAF will conduct this exercise with the French Air and Space Force till the 27th of this month.

2. The Indian Army has introduced an indigenously developed high-altitude monorail system in Arunachal Pradesh’s rugged Himalayan terrain, marking a major breakthrough in logistics support for forward-deployed troops

Developed by the Army’s Gajraj Corps (IV Corps), the monorail—capable of operating at altitudes up to 16,000 feet—has been deployed in the remote Kameng region, where road connectivity is non-existent and traditional vehicles cannot reach.

3. The Indian Air Force’s (IAF) frontline Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft will see enhanced capabilities as the Ministry of Defence (MoD) moves to acquire Aircraft Self Protection Jammer (ASPJ) pods. In addition, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed a new generation of man-portable Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (MP-AUVs) for mine countermeasure missions.

A new generation of Man-portable Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (MP-AUVs) have been successfully developed by the Naval Science & Technological Laboratory (NSTL), Visakhapatnam of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for mine countermeasure missions. The system comprises multiple AUVs equipped with Side Scan Sonar and Under Water cameras as primary payloads for real-time detection & classification of Mine-Like Objects.

5. Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Command, reviewed the final phase of Exercise Trishul at Madhavpur Beach, where the Indian Armed Forces conducted a large-scale demonstration of Amphibious Landing Operations featuring synchronised land, air, and maritime components.

Exercise Trishul, held across multiple operational theatres including the Western Seaboard, the Desert Sector, and the Rann & Creek Sector, is one of India’s major annual multi-domain manoeuvre exercises. This year’s edition highlighted exceptional Tri-Services synergy, precision planning, and real-time tactical integration — reflecting the growing emphasis on unified combat power.

6. Government has approved the inititative of setting up of 100 new Sainik Schools in partnership with NGOs, private schools, state governments.

7. China has commenced sea trials of the Type 076 amphibious assault ship “Sichuan”, marking a major advance in its naval modernisation drive. The vessel blends features of an assault platform and a light aircraft carrier, signalling Beijing’s intention to enhance its far-seas operational capability.
