1. Jal Shakti Ministry has urged all the MPs to participate and support Jal Shakti Abhiyan. Minister of State for Jal Shakti Rattan Lal Kataria said.

A court in New Delhi on 15 June deferred immediate release of Jawaharlal Nehru University students Devangana Kalita and Natasha Narwal, who have been granted bail by the Delhi high court in the riots ‘conspiracy’ case. The high court granted them bail and directed them to furnish a personal bond of Rs 50,000 each along with two sureties of the like amount.

6. The three student activists were arrested in May 2020 and are accused of being the “masterminds” of the February 2020 violence, which had left 53 people dead and hundreds injured. Narwal, along with 17 others, are accused in the case.

The Haryana government gave nod to increase pension financial assistance under social security schemes with effect from April 1.The Cabinet increased old-age pension and the assistance for widows, handicapped, girl child and eunuchs from Rs 2,250 to Rs 2,500 per month. Financial assistance given to destitute children has been increased from Rs 1,350 to Rs 1,600/month & the assistance to disabled children not going schools has been hiked from Rs 1,650 to Rs 1,950 per month.

Chirag Paswan removed as LJP chief a day after coup: The two Lok Janshakti Party factions headed by Chirag Paswan and Pashupati Kumar Paras moved swiftly to take control of the party as a national executive meeting of the organisation expelled five MPs while the Paras-led group removed Paswan as its president.

13. Karnataka imposes restrictions under Sec 144 in Bengaluru city limits till June 21: The virus claimed 125 lives, including 23 in Bengaluru, taking the state’s death toll to 32,913 and the city’s toll to 15,307 since the pandemic broke out in mid-March a year ago.

14. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has formed a committee to decide the evaluation criteria for computation of Class 12 results. The committee will submit its report on 18 June, 2021.

16. An IndiGo flight had a lucky escape when one of its tyres burst on landing in Hubli, Karnataka on 14 June evening. IndiGo flight 6E-7979, an ATR, had landed in Hubli from Kannur in Kerala when its tire burst upon landing. All are safe.

17. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDSL) will deliver the first of the four stealth guided missile destroyers to the Indian Navy by October and a Scorpene-class submarine by the end of the fiscal year. Mazagon Dock Limited, is a shipyard situated in Mazagaon, Bombay.
It manufactures warships and submarines for the Indian Navy and offshore platforms and associated support vessels for offshore oil drilling. It also builds tankers, cargo bulk carriers, passenger ships and ferries.
