1. The third Thane Creek Bridge (TCB-3), has reached completion and is now awaiting final approval for its inauguration..The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), the agency responsible for the ₹850 crore project, has confirmed that the bridge is technically ready for public use.
2. Godavari river, India’s second-longest and lifeline for all major southern States, is facing increasing pollution levels. The impact is more in Telangana. 1. The Union Cabinet has approved a ₹3,706 crore joint venture (JV) between HCL and Foxconn to establish a semiconductor assembly and packaging plant in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh.
2. On May 12, 2025, the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution approved an additional 2.8 million tonnes of FCI rice for ethanol production. The approval comes as part of India’s strategy to boost ethanol output for its Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) Programme, amid concerns regarding the diversion of essential food grains during times of inflation and nutritional stress.

2. India has successfully tested its indigenous counter-drone system called “Bhargavastra,” marking a significant advancement in the nation’s defensive capabilities against the growing threat of drone swarms. This indigenous system, developed by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL).

Indian security forces neutralised three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists during a fierce gunfight in the Zinpather Keller area of Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, on May 13, 2025.The operation, codenamed “Operation Keller,” was launched following specific intelligence inputs received from the Rashtriya Rifles.
