1. The Festival of colors celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm
Holi, the festival of colors, was celebrated across India with people smearing each other with colors, dancing to festive music, and feasting on traditional sweets prepared for the occasion.
2. PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY) has crossed a historic milestone of 10 lakh rooftop solar installations as of 10th March 2025. Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 13th February 2024, this ambitious initiative aims to solarize 1 crore households by 2026-27, significantly reducing electricity costs and promoting clean energy adoption.
3. Indian Railways has joined the Union Government’s Mission Amrit Sarovar, which was launched in April 2022 to tackle water scarcity and improve groundwater recharge across the nation. The mission’s goal is to build or revive 75 ponds in each district.
4. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has generated nearly 143 million US dollars in foreign exchange revenue through satellite launches.
5. The Department of Space said that ISRO launched a total of 393 foreign satellites and 3 Indian customer satellites on a commercial basis over the past decade.
6. Food processing minister T.G. Bharath announced that the Integrated Tomato Processing Unit at Kothiralla village in Pathikonda mandal, Kurnool district, will be completed within six months and commence production. The Rs 11 crore unit aims to ensure better prices for tomato farmers, especially during peak production, by processing tomatoes into ketchup.
7. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has said that the Class 12 examinations scheduled to be held on Saturday, will be conducted as planned despite extended Holi celebrations across various parts of the country. The board, in a statement, said that the Class 12 examination for Hindi Core and Hindi Elective subjects will be held on the scheduled date. It added that students who are unable to attend the examination on 15th March will be given an opportunity to appear in the special examination conducted for students participating in national or international-level sports events.

1. Emergency OTT release: Kangana Ranaut’s political drama drops on Netflix on Holi.
The film Emergency, directed by Kangana Ranaut, explores the 1975 Emergency period in India. Released in theatres on January 17 amid controversy, it features Anupam Kher and Mahima Chaudhry.
2. ‘SSMB29’: SS Rajamouli’s next film.
SS Rajamouli is set to create an epic jungle adventure featuring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film will recreate Kashi in Hyderabad and blend history. Shooting has begun in Odisha, with a release planned for Summer 2027. This project marks Priyanka Chopra’s return to Indian cinema.
3. Bollywood Actor Aamir Khan introduced his new partner, girlfriend Gauri Spratt, on his 60th birthday. Khan met the press in Mumbai on Thursday (March 13) to celebrate his birthday and was joined by Spratt.
Khan and Spratt first met 25 years ago and reconnected one-and-a-half years back. Spratt is a Bengaluru resident and currently works in Khan’s production banner. She has a six-year-old son.

1. Indian Navy inducted its ninth Ammunition Cum Torpedo Cum Missile (ACTCM) Barge, LSAM 23 (Yard 133), in a ceremony held on 12 March 2025, at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai. This barge was launched earlier on 31 January 2025, at Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd in Thane.
2. The India-Bangladesh Naval Exercise BONGOSAGAR 2025 and COORDINATED PATROL (CORPAT) were conducted in the Bay of Bengal this week, marking a significant event in maritime cooperation between the two nations.The exercise featured the participation of INS Ranvir from the Indian Navy and BNS Abu Ubaidah from the Bangladesh Navy.
3. Russia is set to re-enter the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) competition to supply medium transport aircraft, offering its IL-276 model as a replacement for the ageing fleet of Soviet-origin AN-32s.
4. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully deployed its indigenous Military Combat Parachute System (MCPS) from an altitude of 27,000 feet.This achievement marks the MCPS as the only parachute system currently in use by the Indian Armed Forces capable of deployment above 25,000 feet.

Former DRDO Chairman and Aeronautical Society of India President Dr. G Satheesh Reddy recently met with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat in Vijayawada to discuss industrial growth in Andhra Pradesh. During the meeting, Reddy presented a plan to establish defence sector industries across various regions in the state.
