1. 💐Maha Shivaratri🔱 of 2026 will be celebrated today on February 15, Sunday. According to the traditional Hindu calendar, Maha Shivaratri is observed on the 13th or 14th day of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalgun.

3. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs yesterday approved three multitracking projects covering 12 districts across the states of Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra and Karnataka, increasing the existing network of Indian Railways by about 389 kilometres. The total estimated cost of the projects is around 18,509 crore rupees and will be completed up to 2030-31. These projects include Kasara – Manmad 3rd and 4th line, Delhi – Ambala 3rd and 4th line, and Ballari – Hosapete 3rd and 4th line.

5. PM Modi has approved the launch of the PM RAHAT (Road Accident Victim Hospitalization and Assured Treatment) Scheme. Under the Scheme, every eligible road accident victim on any category of road will be entitled to cashless treatment up to one lakh 50 thousand per victim, for period of seven days from the date of accident.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said the government is focusing on creating employment opportunities for the youth of Puducherry in emerging sectors such as Information Technology, Data Centres and Artificial Intelligence. Addressing a public meeting in Karaikal, Mr Shah said steps are being taken to enable the Union Territory’s fishermen to access global markets through international trade linkages.

PM Modi on Saturday flagged off 200 JBM Ecolife electric buses from Guwahati, Assam, in a ceremony that marks one of the larger single-event deployments under the central government’s PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme. The new fleet has been distributed across three cities: 100 buses to Guwahati, 50 to Bhavnagar in Gujarat, and 50 to Nagpur in Maharashtra.
8. In Kerala, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas & Tourism Suresh Gopi inaugurated the newly constructed Multi-Level Parking facility at Kollam Junction Railway Station.
9. To ensure smooth and hassle-free travel during the Holi festival, the Jammu Railway Division of Northern Railways has announced the operation of special reserved trains from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Station to New Delhi and Varanasi in February-March 2026.
The trains will halt at major stations en route, benefiting passengers from Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
10. Indian Railways has approved a Road Over Bridge project and new passenger halts focused on extending rail accessibility to underserved communities in West Bengal. The Railways Ministry said that Northeast Frontier Railway will construct a road over a bridge worth 176 crore rupees between Malahar Halt and Samsi on the Katihar Division.
11. The Union Cabinet has approved a major infrastructure project featuring India’s first underwater rail-cum-road tunnel beneath the Brahmaputra river. The 33.7-kilometre greenfield corridor will connect Gohpur on NH-15 with Numaligarh on NH-715 in Assam at an estimated cost of ₹18,662 crore.
12. India is poised to revive the long-stalled Wular barrage project on the Jhelum River in Jammu and Kashmir, nine months after suspending the Indus Waters Treaty in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Officials have confirmed that construction will resume shortly, in close coordination with the central government, marking a significant shift in water resource management.

Following the Defence Acquisition Council’s (DAC) nod to the proposal to buy 114 Rafale Fighter Jets, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh on Friday said that this would be the first time that the Rafale would be manufactured outside France with 40 to 50 per cent localisation under the ‘Make in India’ programme.
2. The Director General of Indian Coast Guard (ICG), DG Paramesh Sivamani inaugurated the Waterjet Production & Testing Facility of M/s Marine Jet Power (MJP) India at Goa on 13 February 2026.
3. Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma has reviewed security measures aimed at strengthening the counter-terrorism framework at a joint meeting in Udhampur district. The Army Commander chaired the weekly joint control centres’ meeting in virtual mode.
4. India, Japan, and Indonesia have conducted a significant trilateral naval exercise in the Andaman Sea, underscoring their commitment to regional maritime security. The exercise took place on Friday, 13 February 2026, in the strategically vital waters near Port Blair. Ships from the navies of the three nations participated, focusing on enhancing joint operational readiness and interoperability.
