1. PM Modi launches several development projects in Haryana on 134th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Dr BR Ambedkar; Says recent changes in Waqf law will stop exploitation of poor and backward muslims.

2. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio launched the Nagaland Solar Mission, aimed at accelerating the adoption of residential rooftop solar power systems across the state.

3. In Jammu and Kashmir, the Sacred Shri Machail Mata Temple shrine, nestled in spiritual expanse of Machail Valley in District Kishtwar, was reopened for the pilgrims on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi.

7. The Neelam Cultural Centre in Chennai awarded P. Sivakami—a noted author, former IAS officer, and activist—the Verchol Dalit Literary Award, recognizing her significant literary and social contributions. Alongside the honor, she received a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.

8. The India Meteorological Department has forecast heat wave conditions in isolated pockets over Rajasthan and Gujarat during the next 2-3 days. The weather agency predicted similar conditions over Punjab, Haryana and West Madhya Pradesh during 16th to 18th of this month.

1. In Punjab, Mohali cybercrime police have booked the Leader of the Opposition, Partap Singh Bajwa, under couple of sections of the BNS for allegedly spreading misinformation that could compromise national security.

2. Drugs worth 1,800 crore rupees seized near International Maritime Border off Gujarat coast.

3. In a major anti-drug operation, the Indian Coast Guard, in coordination with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), seized over 300 kilograms of methamphetamine worth 1,800 crore rupees in the Arabian Sea off Gujarat coast.

4. In West Bengal, the Inspector General (South Bengal) of the Border Security Force, Ravi Gandhi, visited Samsherganj in Murshidabad in view of the protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025 in the state.

5. Fresh episodes of Waqf (Amendment) Act-related violence rocked Bhangar area in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district on Monday, even as police claimed that law and order situation in the previous riot epicentre of Murshidabad remained largely under control.

6. Fugitive diamond trader Mehul Choksi has been arrested by the police in Belgium. A report claimed he was arrested on Saturday at the request of the Central Bureau of Investigation and is currently in jail. Choksi is wanted in connection with the Punjab National Bank loan fraud case.
