1. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, and both sides will review the entire gamut of bilateral relations.

2. The first randomisation of Electronic Voting Machine- Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail ( EVM-VVPATs ) for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections has been completed.

3. Filing of nomination has begun for the second phase of assembly elections in Bihar, with the issuance of notification yesterday. In this phase, 122 assembly constituencies across 20 districts will go to polls on 11th of November. The last date for filing nominations is the 20th of this month.

4. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the under-construction Bilimora Bullet Train Station, a key node of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project in Gujarat.

5. Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu has inaugurated Fare Se Fursat. This initiatives is aimed at providing freedom to passengers from the stress of fluctuating airfares. The scheme has been started by the government-owned regional carrier, Alliance Air, to promote ease of flying in the country.

6. The Semiconductor Innovation Museum was inaugurated in Hyderabad on 12 October 2025, by the Technology Chip Innovation Program (T-Chip) to boost innovation, public awareness, and investment in India’s growing semiconductor sector

7. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that India is set to lead the world in biofuels. Laying foundation stone and dedicating to the nation three National Highways projects in Puducherry, the Minister said, electric vehicle industry in the country has risen to 22 lakh crore rupees from 14 lakh crore rupees in 2014.

8. The Government of India marked World Mental Health Day 2025 by unveiling new features for the National Tele Mental Health Programme, Tele MANAS. These upgrades aim to expand access to mental health services across the country. The initiative reflects India’s commitment to inclusive, affordable, and accessible mental healthcare through digital innovation.

9. The Sugamya Bharat App, revamped and relaunched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment under the Accessible India Campaign, aims to promote accessibility for persons with disabilities (divyangjan) and the elderly.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall and thunderstorm activity across southern states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, over the coming week. According to the All India Weather Forecast and Warning Bulletin issued on 12 October 2025, these regions will continue to experience light to moderate rainfall, with isolated heavy spells in several areas till October 18.

1. In West Bengal, Durgapur Court has granted nine-day police custody to two more suspects in the gang rape case involving a medical student. The accused were arrested Yesterday, the Court had given ten-day police custody to the three other accused.

2. The Supreme Court Monday (October 13, 2025) refused to quash the First Information Report (FIR) against folk singer and activist Neha Singh Rathore, accused of using derogatory remarks towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and promoting hatred between communities with her allegedly provocative social media posts following the Pahalgam terror attack.

3. The Supreme Court on Monday (October 13, 2025) dismissed a public interest litigation petition seeking a court-monitored investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by a retired judge into allegations of electoral roll manipulation made by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi in Bengaluru Central and other constituencies.

4. The Tamil Nadu Drugs Control Department has cancelled all manufacturing licences of Sresan Pharmaceuticals and permanently closed the company after laboratory tests confirmed the presence of the lethal chemical diethylene glycol in one of its paediatric syrups.

5. A gold-plated ‘kalash’ worth around Rs 40 lakh was allegedly stolen from the spire of a Jain temple in northeast Delhi’s Jyoti Nagar, police said on Saturday. The incident comes days after a similar theft worth nearly Rs one crore was reported from a Jain religious event near the Red Fort.

1. HSBC has committed $1 billion under its Innovation Banking platform to support early and growth-stage startups with non-dilutive debt capital, such as working capital and term loans.

2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Sonali Sen Gupta as its new Executive Director effective 9 October 2025.

3. The RBI has introduced the Unified Markets Interface (UMI), a next-generation financial infrastructure that enables tokenization of financial assets and settlements using wholesale Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), aiming to enhance market efficiency, transparency, and financial inclusion.

1. The Army will conduct a recruitment rally under the from Oct 22 to 26 at Sainik School here for candidates from Cuttack, Puri, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Khurda and Nayagarh districts.

2. The Indian Army will host the UN Troop Contributing Countries’ Chiefs’ Conclave in New Delhi from 14 October, bringing together senior military leaders from 32 nations involved in UN peacekeeping.

3. The Defense Acquisition Council approved a ₹5,150 crore order for the indigenous Dharashakti integrated electronic warfare system for the Army, produced by Bharat Electronics Limited.

4. DRDO Starts Naval Variant of Project Kusha: DRDO has initiated development of the naval variant of Project Kusha, featuring advanced radars, high-energy interceptors, and rapid-response command systems to counter threats such as sea-skimming missiles and China’s high-speed DF-21DA/DF-26B ballistic missiles.

5. Israel has proposed its sixth-generation 250 km range Sky Sting BVR missile with hypersonic terminal speed and advanced RF seeker for Tejas MK1A and Su-30, featuring a three-pulse rocket motor and exceptional electronic counter-countermeasures; initial evaluation and possible Make in India co-production are slated for 2026.

India Edges Toward 90 Rafale F4 G2G Deal: India is progressing toward a government-to-government agreement with France to procure 90 Rafale F4 fighter jets in early 2026, with first deliveries from France in 2028 and subsequent local manufacturing in India—expected to yield 15% cost savings and up to 30% offsets for Indian industry.

The exercise focuses on joint company-level operations, interoperability, and sub-conventional warfare in urban and semi-desert terrains, enhancing tactical coordination, integrating emerging technologies, and boosting bilateral defence cooperation.

11. Indian Army Recruitment 2025: The Indian Army has announced recruitment for 194 Group C posts under the Directorate General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DG EME). Interested and eligible candidates can apply through offline mode. The last date to submit applications is October 24, 2025.

The recruitment drive aims to fill multiple positions within the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, including Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Fireman, Vehicle Mechanic, Fitter, Welder, Tradesman, Cook, and Electrician, among others.
