1. The seventh edition of the joint military exercise ‘Shakti’ between India and France began in Umroi in Meghalaya yesterday. A modern ‘foreign training node’ has been established at the venue.
The opening ceremony of the exercise, which will continue till May 26, was attended by Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India
2. The Indian Navy Ship Kiltan reached Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. The visit is part of the Operational Deployment of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet.
INS Kiltan is an indigenous ASW corvette, designed by the Indian Navy’s Directorate of Naval Design and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata. INS Kiltan is the third of four P28 Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) corvettes.
3. Two Indian Naval Ships, Delhi and Shakti, arrived at Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, as part of the Indian Navy’s Operational Deployment on Sunday. The Royal Malaysian Navy and the High Commission of India in Malaysia accorded a warm welcome to Indian naval ships.

Security forces on Sunday unearthed a terrorist hideout in a forest area in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, recovering a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including nine Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and three pistols, officials said.The hideout was unearthed by the joint troops of Rashtriya Rifles and police during search and cordon operation in Kot Budhan forest in Mahore area.
