14. *UTTAR PRADESH* : Muslim organisation Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind on Monday moved the Supreme Court (SC), seeking directions to the Uttar Pradesh government so that no further demolitions are carried out in the state without following due process. This comes after buildings of those accused of violence during recent protests over remarks on Prophet Muhammad were recently demolished in Kanpur.

1. Retail inflation based on Consumer Price Index eased to 7.04 per cent in May from 7.79 per cent in April this year.

1. Vadodara unit of ABVP submitted a memorandum to the District Collector on Monday, seeking the cancellation of comedian Vir Das’ stand-up show in Vadodara, which is scheduled to be held on June 17.
