1 The President Smt Droupadi Murmu will be on a two-day visit to her home state Odisha from today. she will go to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar to grace its fifth convocation ceremony.

1. In Bihar, the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive of voters list has successfully detected a large number of citizens from Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar during door-to-door verification by the BLOs. The ECI sources said that it was revealed to the BLOs on the duty that these persons have been able to procure all documents including Aadhaar, Domicile Certificate, Ration Card and others.
The ECI sources say that after proper enquiry, which is to be conducted from 1st Aug till 30 Aug, if found true, such names shall not be included in the final list to be published on 30th September this year.
2. The Allahabad High Court has observed that a wife living separately from her husband without a valid reason is not entitled to maintenance and set aside a family court order granting maintenance to a married woman.
3. The body of 19-year-old Delhi University student Sneha Debnath, a resident of Tripura, was recovered from the Yamuna River near the Geeta Colony flyover on Sunday evening after an extensive search operation. Sneha had been missing for more than 110 hours, last seen near the Signature Bridge.
4. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has floated plans to demolish and reconstruct seven dilapidated bridges — including three vehicular bridges and four footover bridges — in the western suburbs’ Kandivali and Malad areas. The project is estimated to cost nearly Rs 33 crore, and is slated to be completed over two years.

1. In Jammu & Kashmir, at least 17 Amarnath Yatris sustained injuries after three buses collided with each other along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near TachLoo area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The J&K Police have initiated enquiry into the incident.
2. Diesel truck on a freight train from Ennore caught fire near Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu yesterday morning. The train was carrying 45 tankers of high speed diesel and was enroute to Walajabad when the incident occurred.

1. The gross direct tax collections in the country have witnessed a 274 per cent growth over the last ten years. Finance Ministry sources said that between 2013-14 and 2024-25, the refunds issued by the tax department have increased by 474 percent, and the taxpayer base has grown by 133 percent.
The average time of issuing tax refunds has decreased from 93 days in 2013 to just 17 days in 2024.
2. Bharti Space Ltd., the satellite and space-tech arm of Bharti Enterprises, is deepening its commitment to the global satellite communications sector by investing an additional €120 million (approximately ₹1,204 crore) in French satellite operator Eutelsat.

Veteran actor Sri Kota Srinivasa Rao passed away in the early hours of Sunday at his residence in Filmnagar, Hyderabad. He was 83 and had been battling illness for the past few days.
He was an Indian actor and politician. He acted in more than 700 movies, he starred in telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam films. As a politician, Rao has served as the MLA from Vijayawada East in Andhra Pradesh, India from 1999 to 2004.

1. In Ladakh, the Indian Army organized a commemorative bike rally from Kumbathang to Randhawa Top, in run-up to mark the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas on Sunday. A total of 50 riders participated in the rally.
2. The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) and the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully concluded their joint maritime exercise ‘JA-MATA’ in the Bay of Bengal, off the Chennai coast. The exercise aimed to strengthen bilateral maritime cooperation and enhance the interoperability of the two forces.
Highlights of the Exercise:
Focused on anti-piracy operations, search and rescue, marine pollution response, and communication drills.
3. India, along with 18 other nations, is participating in Talisman Sabre 2025, a major bilateral military drill led by Australia that commenced on Sunday (July 13, 2025).
Talisman Sabre is a biennial (every two years) joint military exercise primarily between Australia and the United States, with participation from other allied nations. It is held to strengthen interoperability, combat readiness, and strategic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
4. India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) represents a transformative leap in the nation’s defence capabilities, positioning the country to join the exclusive club of nations with indigenous fifth-generation stealth fighters. With advanced artificial intelligence, cutting-edge stealth technology, and indigenous weapons systems, the AMCA is designed to fundamentally reshape the strategic air power balance in South Asia by 2035.
5. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said, Brahmos missile performed remarkably during Operation Sindoor. He said, the demand for BrahMos missiles has increased in foreign countries. The Defence Minister was speaking after unveiling the statue of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Bhanu Gupta at the National PG College in Lucknow.
