1. 🌼💐HAPPY BASANT PANCHAMI : Vasant Panchami is also known as ‘Saraswati Panchami’ or ‘Shri Panchami’ is a popular festival in India. On this day Hindus offer Saraswati Puja to worship Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of wisdom, knowledge, arts and music, with complete devotion and gaiety. Basant Panchami is celebrated on the ‘Panchami’ (5th day) of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight of moon) in the month of ‘Magha’ in Hindu calendar. This festival terminates the old winter waves and welcomes the vibrancy of the spring season.

The Gujarat government has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a review of the court’s verdict that quashed the remission granted to 11 men convicted of raping Bilkis Bano and murdering seven of her family members during the 2002 riots, saying certain observations made against the state were unwarranted.

4. Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya on Tuesday resigned as the party’s national general secretary accusing the leadership of discriminating against him and not defending him over his remarks.

Maurya had made controversial statements on the Ramcharitmanas and the Ayodhya temple consecration ceremony.

5. In a relief to Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, the Supreme Court on Tuesday quashed the defamation complaint against him over the “Gujarati thugs” remark after he withdrew it unconditionally.

6. The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to stay the operation of the new law that provides for appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners by a panel which does not include the Chief Justice of India.

1. SHAH RUKH KHAN SAYS HE HAD NO ROLE IN GETTING INDIAN NAVY VETERANS FREED BY QATAR : Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has denied his involvement in the release of eight Indian Navy veterans by Qatar. On Tuesday, Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy claimed that the actor had helped the Indian government and persuaded the Qatar government to release the eight Indian Navy veterans held captive in the state on charges of espionage.

2. Right-wing group objects to screening of film at NFAI, says it showed Indian Army in bad light : The incident took place on Sunday when the docudrama, titled ‘ I Am Not The River Jhelum’ , was being screened as part of ‘A Festival of Contemporary Indian Films’ organised by the Pune International Centre and the International Federation of Film Critics-India Chapter.

3. The health condition of veteran actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty has improved and he is “quite stable”. He was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata on Saturday, after he complained of severe chest pain.

The ‘Indira Gandhi award for best debut film’ and the ‘Nargis Dutt award for best feature film on national integration’ have been retitled with the names of the late prime minister and legendary actor being dropped as part of a raft of changes for the National Film Awards, according to a notification.

In accordance with the changes suggested by the committee, and included in the ‘Regulations’, the ‘Indira Gandhi award for best debut film of a director’ has been renamed ‘Best debut film of a director’. The prize money, which was earlier split between the producer and the director, will now only go to the director.

Similarly, the ‘Nargis Dutt Award for best feature film on national integration’ will now be called the ‘Best feature film promoting national, social and environmental values’.

5. Spain-based performing artist, Alicia Framis is all set to marry an AI-generated hologram, turning all sci-fi dystopian movies into reality. As outworldly as it might sound, Framis’ future husband is a digital entity created with holographic technology and machine learning.

Framis will become the first-ever woman to marry an AI-generated digital entity, which might set a precedent for the future of relationships and marriages.

1. A Hawk trainer aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed at Kalaikunda in West Bengal’s Medinipur district during a training sortie on Tuesday, a Defence official said.Both the pilots ejected safely.

2. India is now planning to go for developing an indigenous power plant for Arjun MK-1A tanks as the German engines used for powering the indigenous tanks are likely to be delayed by around four years.

3. The Defence ministry signed a ₹2,269-crore deal with state-run Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on Tuesday for the procurement of 11 Shakti warfare systems, along with associated equipment.The electronic warfare system will be installed on-board the frontline warships of the Indian Navy.

4. The first version of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) TEJAS MK-2 is expected to be ready for serial production by 2027. The TEJAS MK-2 will be powered by the GE-F414 engine, which will be produced in India under a technology transfer deal. The TEJAS MK-2 is a 17.5-ton single-engine aircraft developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy. The program aims to complete development by 2027.

5. A team of 71 personnel of Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Sarang Helicopter Display Team landed at the Paya Lebar Air Base of Singapore to participate in the Singapore Air Show 2024. The world renowned Sarang Helicopter Display Team will be showcasing its spectacular aerobatics manoeuvres at this event with five Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) also known as ‘Dhruv’. The induction was carried out with the IAF’s C-17 Globemaster-III heavy lift transport aircraft.

The biennial Singapore Air Show is scheduled to commence on 20 Feb 2024 and shall conclude on 24 Feb 2024.

6. Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team to Mesmerize Audience at Air Show in Bagdogra. The renowned Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) of the Indian Air Force (lAF) is all set to enthral the audience at the Air Show scheduled to be held on 16 February at 9 AM at Air Force Station Bagdogra in West Bengal.
