1. Every year on February 14, when the world celebrates Valentine’s Day, It is a black day for India, On this day in 2019, the Pulwama attack takes place in the Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir in which 40 CRPF personnel martyred and a suicide bomber were killed.

7. Agricultural Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) celebrated its 36th Foundation Day on 13 Feb. APEDA actively supported the Govt in taking the export of agricultural products to 20.67 billion dollar in 2020-21 from 0.6 billion dollar in 1986 when it was founded. Commerce and Industry Ministry said, it also helped to expand the export basket to several countries. The target given to APEDA in the current financial year is 23.7 billion dollar, out of which more than 70% has been achieved till January this year.
8. ANDHRA PRADESH :
The Central govt has removed the Special Category Status (SCS) from the agenda of the sub-committee meeting between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. The Union government constituted a three-member sub-committee under the chairmanship of Joint Secretary (CS), ministry of home affairs (MHA), to carry out the preparatory work and recommend practical ways to resolve the bilateral issues arising out of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state.

10. KARNATAKA: High Court has restrained students of colleges that have prescribed a dress code or uniform from wearing “religious garments” and requested the state to reopen educational institutions, so that classes can be commenced at the earliest.
11. In the backdrop of the Hijab-Saffron Shawl controversy, Udupi district administration has imposed Section 144 of CrPC within 200 meters radius of the high schools in the district. Prohibitory orders Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed from 6 am on Feb 14 to 6 pm on Feb 19 as a precautionary measure.

13. The Govt has approved 26,275 crore rupees central financial outlay from 2021-22 to 2025-26 for modernisation of police forces. Home Minister Amit Shah has been taking the initiatives to modernise and improve the functioning of Police Forces of States and Union Territories. The scheme for modernization of state police forces has a Central outlay of 4,846 crore rupees.
