1. The veteran lyricist-screenwriter Javed Akhtar is set to be honored with the Padmapani Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming Ajanta-Ellora Film Festival. This recognition celebrates his remarkable contributions to the Indian film industry, including iconic works like ‘Zanjeer,’ ‘Deewar,’ ‘Sholay,’ ‘Don,’ ‘Kala Patthar,’ and ‘Mr India.’
The award ceremony will take place on 03 January 2024, marking the opening day of the ninth edition of the festival.

Raksha Rajya Mantri Ajay Bhatt flagged-in a team of Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling that carried out Mission Antarctica in Delhi. The expedition which commenced in 2021 was undertaken by a team of three trekkers, led by Group Captain Jai Kishan.

3. Four test pilots from the Indian Air Force have been selected as Astronaut-Designates for 2024 Moon mission.
4. The Indian Navy will be inducting a Fast Attack Craft, INS Tarmugli on 14 Dec 2023 in a ceremonial commissioning ceremony at Naval Dockyard, Vishakhapatnam. The ship has a unique distinction of having served under the flag of two nations with three names during her distinguished service till date.
Commissioned in the Indian Navy as INS Tillanchang, a Trinkat Class ship, she was in active service till 2006, and thereafter gifted to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) by the Govt of India, as part of diplomatic outreach in the IOR.
The ship was commissioned into MNDF as MCGS Huravee on 16 April 2006, and served there till its decommissioning in May 2023.
5. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest and reviewing officer of the combined graduation parade of 212 officers course at Air Force Academy, Dundigal, on December 17. The parade is to be held to mark the successful completion of pre-commissioning training of flight cadets from various IAF branches.
