Radar Imaging Satellite RISAT 1A

1. Atomic Energy and Space Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar jointly released the data products and services of Radar Imaging Satellite, RISAT-1A for the user community in New Delhi.

2. Winter Session of Maharashtra Legislature will be held from 19th to 30th December.

3. Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat chaired a meeting of the special committee for the Interlinking of Rivers in New Delhi.

4. Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar has said that the number of Medical Colleges in the country has increased by 67 percent in the last eight years.

5. Punjab Cabinet approved the recruitment of 8,400 candidates in Punjab Police in four years including 1,200 sub-inspector and 7,200 constables.

6. Justice Dipankar Dutta has took oath as a judge of the Supreme Court. Justice Dutta will have a term till February 8, 2030.

7. Home Minister Amit Shah has alleged that the Congress has raised the issue of India-China face-off to avoid the question of FCRA violation by Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, an organisation run by the opposition party.

He said, that the Foundation had received a grant of 1.35 crore rupees from the Chinese Embassy during 2005-2007.

8. NITI Aayog’s CEO Parameswaran Iyer said that Mission LiFE( Lifestyle for Environment) is a dedicated, mission mode and India lead global movement that aims to bring individual and community behaviour at centre of climate action.

9. The Rajya Sabha takes up Constitution (SCs and STs) Orders (Second Amendment) Bill, 2022 for consideration and passing.

10. Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a review of all decisions taken by the previous BJP government and the termination of officials who were recently re-employed or given extensions.

The order also put on hold all pending under-process tenders and said no work will be awarded till further orders.

11. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has objected to the decision to hand over the charge of Chandigarh SSP to a Haryana cadre IPS officer.

12. The lower courts and tribunals in Haryana will start issuing orders in Hindi as well from April 1, 2023.

1. The first G-20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies meeting and the first Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting began in Bengaluru.

2. Government clarified that the release of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief arrears for Central government employees and pensioners for the period of the COVID pandemic is not considered feasible.

3. HDFC merger with HDFC Bank gets in-principle approval from NSE, BSE. Once the merger is complete, HDFC will own a 41% stake in the bank.

4. Paytm’s parent company One97 Communications has approved a share buyback of ₹850 crore through the open market. The company will buy back fully paid-up equity shares at a price not exceeding ₹810 per share.

1. Oscar Nominations 2023: The 95th Oscar Awards will be announced and the Oscar nominations 2023 will release 10 categories by 21st December 2022.

2. The 20th Edition of the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival kicked off in Kathmandu, Nepal. This year, the festival was scheduled to be held from December 8 to 12, 2022.

3. A Mumbai court issues summons to lyricist Javed Akhtar in connection with a defamation case filed by a lawyer over the former’s alleged remarks against the RSS last year; next hearing is on Feb 6.

4. The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail to businessman Raj Kundra, husband of actress Shilpa Shetty, and others including Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey in a pornography case.

5. Actress Sai Pallavi, who works in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam cinema, has reportedly been roped in to portray Sita in director Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’.

4. Kalyani Rafael Advanced Systems Pvt Ltd (KRAS) on Tuesday rolled out the 100th Medium Range Surface to Air Missile Kit for delivery to the Indian Armed Forces.

According to a release from the company, the kit is part of the MRSAM Air Defence Missile jointly developed by Rafael Advanced Defence Systems Ltd and DRDO .
