3. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has postponed the orbiting of its earth observation satellite (EOS) by its small rocket – Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) – by a day to August 16. Earlier, ISRO said that it will put into orbit the EOS with SSLV on August 15.
4. Indian Railways and NCRTC have launched the ‘One India-One Ticket’ initiative, allowing seamless booking and travel between mainline trains and RRTS services. After purchasing an IRCTC train e-ticket, passengers can book RRTS tickets, which will include a QR code valid for four days.

10. The Delhi Metro will commence its services at 4 AM on Thursday to facilitate the public to attend the Independence Day ceremony. 16. Five wildlife sanctuaries in Telangana have been proposed by the government to be tagged as Ramsar sites under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance.
The State government has proposed the five wildlife sanctuaries include Kinnerasani lake, Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary, Manjeera, Pocharam and Ramappa lake.

1. The Punjab National Bank has launched the PNB ANTAH DRISHTI Braille Debit Card for visually impaired users. This contactless RuPay card features Braille embossing, a rounded notch, and contrasting colors for easier use.

1. India is set to test its new SAMAR-2 air defence system, which has a range of nearly 30 kilometers. The Indian Air Force (IAF) plans to conduct the first firing trials by December 2024. This system is a significant advancement in India’s air defence capabilities, following the earlier SAMAR-1 system, which has a range of 8 kilometers.
2. US aerospace giant Boeing has partnered with India’s AI Engineering Services Ltd to provide overhaul services to the Indian Navy’s fleet of 12 P-8I maritime surveillance aircraft.
3. The sixth India-Australia Maritime Security Dialogue was held in Canberra : Australia and India are intensifying their maritime cooperation in the Indian Ocean region, Australia’s envoy to India Philip Green said the day the 6th Australia-India Maritime Dialogue was held in Canberra.
4. India’s Second Ballistic Missile Nuclear Submarine ‘INS Arighat’ Nears Commissioning; Bolstering Underwater Firepower.
The INS Arighat, a 6,000-ton nuclear-powered submarine, was constructed at the ship-building centre in Vizag. It is now fully prepared for commissioning after a series of rigorous trials.

INDIA-SRI LANKA JOINT MILITARY EXERCISE ‘MITRA SHAKTI : A joint exercise between the militaries of India and Sri Lanka got underway in the island nation on Monday to facilitate interoperability and sharing of best practices, the defence ministry said.The 10th edition of the India-Sri Lanka Joint Military Exercise ‘Mitra Shakti’ at the Army Training School, Maduru Oya, will be conducted from August 12-25.

The India-Germany Submarine deal involving ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) is significant for several reasons, particularly in the context of international defence cooperation and technological advancement in naval capabilities.The India-Germany submarine deal involves a significant agreement for the joint construction of six advanced conventional submarines for the Indian Navy, valued at approximately $5.2 billion.
