8. UTTAR PRADESH : The District Court in Varanasi on Monday agreed on the maintainability of the plea in the Gyanvapi- Shringar Gauri case.

*The Court rejected the plea of Anjuman Committee (which manages Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi) and said, the law suit is maintainable. District Judge AK Vishvesh rejected the argument based on Places of Worship Act, 1991 by the Muslim side petitioners and asked all the petitioners to file their reply till the next hearing which is scheduled on the 22nd of September.

9. Police conducted a flag march in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya after the Varanasi district court’s verdict on the Gyanvapi case on Monday. The Varanasi court agreed to hear a group of Hindu women’s plea seeking access to pray inside the Gyanvapi mosque. The Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee had questioned the maintainability of the Hindu side’s plea.

10. A madrasa, which was built “illegally” on government land, was demolished in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. The madrasa was built on grazing land along the Banda-Tanda highway in 2009, Amethi DM Rakesh Kumar Mishra said. A fine of ₹2.24 lakh has been imposed on the building’s owner.

11. MEGHALAYA CM Conrad K Sangma launched an online portal of the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act (MRSSA) in the presence of Home Minister Lakhmen Rymbui and other eminent officials in Shillong. The online portal will provide a digital platform to ensure the safety and security of the residents and act as a strong intelligence gathering system for authorities.

12. WEST BENGAL : Trinamool Congress, led by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, will bring a resolution in the state Assembly against the “misuse” of central agencies like ED and CBI.

Supreme Court on Monday granted bail to Haridwar hate speech accused Jitendra Narayan Tyagi. The court asked him not to make any statement in the media with regard to the pending case. Tyagi, along with Yati Narsinghanand, was accused of hurting religious sentiments after videos of their speeches at Dharma Sansad surfaced on social media.

1. E-auction of ten commercial coal mines will start on Tuesday. Ministry of Coal had invited bids for coal mines for commercial coal mining. The Ministry said, the total peak rate capacity (PRC) of the mines being put up for e-auction is 39.31 million ton per annum.

2. Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal’s fintech startup Navi Technologies has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for a ₹3,350 crore Initial Public Offering (IPO). Navi Technologies submitted its draft papers in March 2022. The company reported a profit of ₹71.1 crore in FY21 and incurred losses of ₹206.42 crore in the first nine months of FY22.

3. Air India has signed agreements for 25 Airbus and five Boeing aircraft which will enter service in late 2022.

4. Government is planning to pay around ₹20,000 crore to the state-run fuel retailers to compensate them for losses and keep a check on cooking gas prices.

5. Nayara Energy announced Prasad K Panicker as the new Chairman of the company. Prasad K Panicker is the Director and Head of the Refinery, and he will be replacing Charles Anthony Fountain.

2. Shatrughan Sinha has expressed his concerns over the health of comedian Raju Srivastava and urged AIIMS, Delhi to issue health bulletins for him, Raju has been admitted to the hospital for nearly a month now after he suffered cardiac arrest in August.

Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande on Monday said the process of Indian and Chinese militaries disengaging from Patrolling Point 15 in the Gogra-Hotsprings area in eastern Ladakh was “going as per schedule”. The External Affairs Ministry had said on September 9 that the disengagement process will be completed by September 12.

2. the Indian Army’s impressive engineering skills came to the fore on Sunday after a video depicted the troops constructing a bridge across the Indus river.

The video was titled ‘Bridging Challenges – No Terrain nor Altitude Insurmountable’ and was shared on Twitter by the South Western Command of the Indian Army.

The drill was carried out by the Sapta Shakti Engineers in Eastern Ladakh. The building of the bridge included carrying out mobility tasks and training.
