Uttarkashi tunnel collapse: Debris removal still underway to rescue 40 workers. Communication established with trapped workers as rescue teams work to remove debris using heavy machinery. In a race against time, rescue and relief operations have been launched on a war footing in the Silkyara Tunnel, located on the Uttarkashi-Yamnotri road, as a section of the tunnel collapsed Sunday morning, trapping around 40 labourers inside.
1. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has directed the circulation and publication of the reports on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita- 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita- 2023, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Bill – 2023. These reports were submitted by the Chairman of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs, Brij Lal.
The three bills are aimed at replacing the Indian Penal Code 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, and the Indian Evidence Act, 1872. They were introduced in the Lok Sabha in August this year.

1. Gross direct tax collections witnessed a robust growth in this financial year with the collection of 12.37 lakh crore rupees so far. The collection is 17.59 percent higher than the corresponding period of last financial year.
As per the provisional figures of direct tax collection till 9th of November, personal income tax collection registered growth of 31.77% while corporate income tax collection is at 12.48%. According to the finance ministry, tax refunds of 1.77 lakh crore rupees has been issued so far.
