1. PM Modi on 12 Nov Friday lauded the use of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) across the country and said the digital transactions in India has jumped 19 times in the last seven years.

2. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on 13 Nov launched e-GCA, the e-governance platform of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), at Dr Ambedkar International Centre.

3. PM Modi will land on the Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh in the Indian Air Force’s C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft on November 16. The Indian Air Force will land its Mirage 2000 and Su-30MKI fighter aircraft on the modified airstrip the same day.
The 340-km expressway starts in the state capital of Lucknow and ends in eastern Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur.

4. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman K Sivan on disclosed that the final manned mission of Gaganyaan that got delayed due to the pandemic will finally be launched in 2023.

6. DELHI : The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will start selling India International Trade Fair (IITF) entry tickets for ‘Business Days’ (14th November to 18th November 2021) from 14th November 2021 and for ‘General Public Days’ (19th Nov to 27th Nov 2021) from 19th November 2021

7. J&K: Security forces have arrested an alleged terrorist from Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The accused was arrested at a police check point erected near Khann in Ganderbal district. He was identified as Arshad Ahmad Mir, was booked under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and section 7/25 of the Arms Act as preliminary investigation revealed he was a close associate of terror group Lashkar-e-Toiba.

8. In Kashmir Valley, three terrorists have been killed in two different encounters with the security forces since Friday afternoon. Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said.

9. Registration begins for Sub-Inspector vacancies in the Jammu and Kashmir. The recruitment drive will fill 1,200 vacancies in the J&K Police under the Home Department of the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Services. The last date for submission of applications for the post is 10th of December.

10. KERALA : Doors of the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa shrine will be opened next week for the two-month long annual pilgrimage season during which 30,000 devotees per day will be allowed to have darshan through a virtual queue system. The pilgrimage will commence on November 16.

11. Kerala: A day after Norovirus cases were confirmed in Wayanad district, the Kerala government on Friday said people need to be vigilant about the very contagious virus that causes vomiting and diarrhea. The rare Norovirus infection was reported in some students of a veterinary college in Pookode near Vythiri in Wayanad district two weeks ago.

WHAT IS NOROVIRUS DISEASE?

Norovirus, an animal-borne disease transmitted through contaminated water and food, was diagnosed in 13 students in Kerala’s Wayanad. The Norovirus causes gastrointestinal illness, which causes symptoms such as severe vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, and nausea. The virus is easily transmitted through close contact with the infected person and is spread through their excrement and vomit.

12. MAHARASHTRA: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at seven locations in Pune and one place at Aurangabad in Maharashtra in connection with the alleged Waqf Board land scam case. The Waqf Board comes under the department of Minority Development headed by minister Nawab Malik.

13. Former Maharashtra minister Anil Deshmukh has been remanded to Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody till Nov 15 in connection with an alleged money laundering case. The ED had arrested Deshmukh last week. A special holiday court on November 6 had sent the NCP leader to judicial custody after rejecting the ED’s plea seeking extension of his remand. However, a day later, the Bombay High Court set aside the lower court’s order and sent Deshmukh in ED remand till November 12.

15. UTTAR PRADESH Ministry of Jal Shakti has informed that 735 Schemes related to Drinking Water Supply in Uttar Pradesh have been approved. As per the approval, tap water connections will be provided to over four lakh rural households of the state.

16. PUNJAB CM Charanjit Singh Channi announced ₹2 lakh compensation for 83 people arrested by Delhi Police for taking out the tractor rally on January 26, 2021. He said this step reiterates his government’s support towards farmers protesting against the three farm laws of Centre. On Republic Day, farmers’ tractor rally had turned violent and Red Fort was vandalised.

TAMIL NADU : Boulders fall on Kannur-Yeshwantpur Express in TN, 2,300 passengers have a narrow escape : 07390 Kannur-Yeshwantpur Express had a narrow escape after boulders fell on it in Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu in the early hours of Friday. Seven coaches — B1, B2 (3rd AC), S6, S7, S8, S9, S10 (sleeper) — derailed between Sivadi and Muttampatti around 3.50am on Friday. “…Seven coaches derailed between Sivadi and Muttampatti in Omalur-Bengaluru section of Bengaluru division. All are safe, No casualties or injuries.

20. Chennai: The flood warning has been issued in various districts of Tamil Nadu with incessant rains continuing in parts of the state on Friday. Water level in the Vaigai dam reached 69 feet against the full reservoir capacity of 71 feet.

21. TELANGANA : State govt is likely to make it mandatory for MLAs to contribute 25 per cent of their constituency development fund (CDF) every year to government schools. The aim is to better the education sector in the state.

22.UTTAR PRADESH: The Supreme Court on Friday adjourned the hearing of the case relating to the October 3 violence in Lakhimpur Kheri for November 15, on the request of the Uttar Pradesh government.

24. JHARKHAND: Top Maoist leader Prashant Bose alias Kishan Da with a ₹1 crore reward on his head was arrested in Jharkhand along with his wife Sheela Marandi, a police officer said on Friday. Bose is a senior leader of the central committee of CPI (Maoist). He was active in Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh

24.111 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in India so far, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday. Nearly 53 lakh vaccine doses were administered.

25. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will hold a meeting with Chief Ministers and state Finance Ministers on Monday to discuss measures to attract private investments to help boost the economy. It’ll focus on easing norms on land and water use, Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth said. Finance Secretary TV Somanathan said India has shown strong economic recovery post two COVID-19 waves.

30. The Army on 12 Nov (Friday) agreed to grant Permanent Commission (PC) to all eligible Women Short Service Commission Officers (WSSCO) after the Supreme court orders. The Army had initially said that out of the 36 women short service commission officers in the force, who have filed the contempt petition, it has granted PC to 22 officers while 14 were not considered fit including three on medical grounds.

31. The Bench directed the Army to issue orders in 10 days for grant of Permanent Commission to 11 officers who had moved the court and in three weeks for those who didn’t approach the court. With the direction of the Supreme court, 68 out of the total 71 WSSCOs who were earlier denied permanent commission will be granted the permanent commission. Initially there were 72 officers who were denied the PC but later one officer had opted to quit. Three officers have been found medically unfit.

32. On the 59th anniversary of the battle of Rezang La in which troops of 13 Kumaon led by Major Shaitan Singh defeated many waves of the Chinese army during the 1962 war, India would be getting a newly revamped war memorial there to be inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on November 18.

33. Karnataka will introduce a defence and aerospace policy by the end of December. The government is also coming up with a defence and aerospace park on 1,200 acres of land, which it claims is the first in the country.

For Third Time, Defence Ministry Extends Emergency Powers Granted to Army, Navy, IAF to Buy Ammunition : The Defence Ministry has once again extended the emergency powers accorded to the Army, Navy, Air Force and the Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) for urgent revenue procurements and works amid continuing tensions with China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, even as the ministry emphasised strengthening the existing rules of procurement.
