1. The Election Commission Poll schedule announced for Biennial Elections for 57 Rajya Sabha seats from 15 states.
Notification for the election will be issued on 24th of May and the last date of nomination for these seats will be 31st of this month. Polling will be held on 10th of June and counting of votes will be taken up on the same day.

9. *J&K* : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on 12 May condemned the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit after he was shot dead by militants in the valley. “I strongly condemn the barbaric killing of Rahul Bhat by terrorists at Budgam. Those behind this despicable terror attack will not go unpunished,” he said. The government stands with the bereaved family, he added.
